He was 92. He started his career as a magician and but found more fame as the "Magician who could never do a trick." Billing himself as "Ballantine the Great" or "The Amazing Ballantine," he created a comedy magic act similar to that of British prestidigator Tommy Cooper, where the trick always failed.
Funny man Tim Conway began his small screen career as a regular on The Steve Allen Show , brought havoc to the Pacific in McHale's Navy , and spent several years cracking up fellow comedian Harvey Korman on The Carol Burnett Show .
