Over the weekend, a screening of the upcoming Matthew Vaughn film Kick-Ass - based on a comic by Wanted writer Mark Millar - brought down the house at BNAT, the annual Austin birthday party for Ain't It Cool News headgeek Harry Knowles at the Alamo Drafthouse.

I still have this clip from Comic-Con on the site, and it doesn't look any different, and it does make me wonder why they've waited so long to release it.

There goes Nicolas Cage again. Just when Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans almost had us convinced that the man hadn't forgotten how to act, and the prospect of him teaching a teen girl to kill in Kick-Ass had us wondering about a CageA resurgence, he goes and does a movie like this.

The girl who escapes seems to have "evaporated straight through the walls" and the guards have no idea where she could have gone.

Kick-Ass opens on April 16th, and stars Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Lyndsy Fonseca, Mark Strong, Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz.
