David Hernandez was the first of the finalists to get the boot on this season's 'American Idol' on Wednesday night.
Hernandez, 24, a native of Glendale, Ariz., sang 'I Saw Her Standing There' to disappointing reviews from the judges.
'Things happen for a reason,' Hernandez said in his farewell.
