How to fit a motorcycle helmet and retention system?

The best way to put on the helmet is to hold the chin straps to each side before pulling it over your head. Pass the end of the strap through the D-rings and pull it snug. Keeping your head straight, rotate the helmet from side to side with your hands. If the helmet is adjusted properly, you should feel the movement of your scalp closely match the helmet's movement. Ed Hardy Helmets. With your hands on the sides of the helmet, move the helmet in a slight up and down motion. Once again, the movement of your skin should follow the helmet movement. To remove the helmet, pull the D-ring tab outward to release strap tension, then unthread the chin strap. Pull the chin straps outward, rotate the helmet forward and lift it off.

Motorcycle exhaust cleaner gets this biker's "stamp of approval"

I ride a LOT more than I clean. So by the time I tried Blue Job on my headers they were an ugly shade of brown from burned on mud and road grit. After washing off the crud and getting down to the metal I gave this stuff a try. Two words of advice to those who feel it doesn't work. 1) Read the directions, especially the part about making a thick paste. 2) Be patient. I sipped a beer and listened to the radio while working one small section at a time. Took me about an hour for both headers, but they came out shiny and silver.

Could bikers get $2,500 voucher for a new motorcycle purchase?

If Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) has his way, however, you will soon be able to trade an older vehicle that gets less MPGs for a brand new motorcycle. Casey has introduced S. 1248, the Green Transportation Efficiency Act of 2009, aka the Green TEA bill. The Casey bill would provide a $2500 voucher when trading in an older car or bike to purchase a brand new motorcycle from a participating, registered dealership. Motorcycle GPS.

The Motorcycle Riders Foundation took note that the President recently signed the Car Allowance Rebate System bill, also known as CARS, or by its former moniker, "cash for clunkers." This law provides individual Americans with vouchers up to $4500 toward the purchase of a new automobile when trading in an older, less efficient vehicle.

Confusion Over Missouri Helmet Law - KTVI

"It is hot but I'd rather be hot than bash my head in," on one of the hottest days of the year Missouri motorcyclist Larry Reifstick would rather be heated than harmed, others would like to leave the helmet at home. "I just drove through Arkansas with a few other friends and we all had our helmets off," says motorcyclist Elmer Ferguson, "but as soon as we got back into Missouri there was a police officer telling us to put them back on."

Ed Hardy Helmets. That could change soon, but it hasn't yet. While the state legislature did pass a bill that would allow going helmetless on most Missouri roads except interstates, that bill still waits on the governor's desk. Whether its confusion or courage some are breaking the law by not wearing a helmet.

"I see them without all of the time," says Reifstick, "I saw two or three of them just today, I think most of them think the law as already gone into effect."

The Highway Patrol knows it hasn't gone into effect. Troopers issuing a reminder to motorcyclists that they can and will ticket those going helmetless. The bill waits for the governor's action and even if he had signed it already it would be august before going leaving the helmet off would be legal. If Governor Nixon doesn't veto nor sign it, then the bill would automatically become law July 14th. It would be by the end of August before it would take effect. So until then the debate continues and for the time being, so does having to have a helmet on.

"Most bikers I have spoken with would prefer to have the choice," says Ferguson as he strapped on his helmet to head home."

Proner & Proner, Attorneys at law, have filed a Federal class action lawsuit in the Federal Court for the Northern District of New York against the New York State Police as well as New York State and county authorities to stop them from conducting motorcycle-only roadblocks near popular motorcycle events. Michigan AAA goes on the offensive against biker rights

Found at 1st5ive.com.
AAA Michigan opposes several bills introduced in the House of Representatives that would allow motorcyclists to ride without their helmets. House Bills 4028, 4747, and 4907, sponsored by Representative Richard LeBlanc (D-Westland), would make helmet use optional, rather than mandatory, for those operating or riding a motorcycle.

Every year, bikers ride to Lansing to promote their narrow special interest (riding without helmets) without regard for the common good. A 2005 AAA study found nearly 90 percent of AAA Michigan members opposed a repeal of the state's mandatory motorcycle helmet law, which has served Michigan well for more than 35 years.
