Does Cotto even care about getting credit? I've been watching Cotto for a long time and he's no Felix Trinidad who embraces the media and the fans. He couldnt care less about what anyone says or feels. Hes getting his largest purse ever and hes going in with a major advantage, looking to outweigh his opponent by 10 plus lbs on fight night. He's sitting pretty right and full of confidence. I don't know why everyone is complaining about the lb. At the end of the day, if Pacquiao does not get credit for beating Oscar / Hatton, then no Cotto probably won't get credit for beating Pacquiao. Simple as that. Who cares, we're going to see a fight and these 2 fighters are getting paid big money for it.

as a casual fan.. i will give cotto all the credit that he deserves if he beats pac. pac said he's in top form and will have no excuses. even cotto's opponent will appreciate his greatness if he pulls off the win. That's the problem with boxing critics.. they always find a way to demolish a fighter's achievements. The winner is the better man that night, and if your a sports fan, you must learn to accept that that the fighter's own strength, skills, and discipline brought him that success.

Cotto won't be getting credit for sure, WHEN he's knocked out by the Pacman.
They'll say he's shot, he wasn't the same after the Margarito bout, he doesn't have the heart, etc. But the reality is, he would have just been beaten by an all-time great. For me, I give him all props now. But it won't be enough, not against Pacquiao. |

there is no 7 8 9, i think coz it will end in 4 or 5 rounds....pacman will knockout miguel then..

cotto is going down 2 pound while pacman going up 4 pounds. Who do you think has the advantage here??

Can't make up my mind after reading ;ok catchweight has something to do with this kind of uneasy feeling.Pacquiao will make his contracted weight at 145 lbs.Cotto should do the same come official weigh -in .Assuming that the latter can't make it just like what Mayweather did in his recent fight with Marquez, that makes catchweight negligible.Cotto didn't give an inch, therefore his win will be just normal. Pacquiao wins, sensational it is and worthy of his seventh championship belt in seven different class division.Anyway it is the fight that the people are really looking forward to see.Imagine a diminutive Pacquiao coming from unthinkable weight of 112 up to 147 lbs. is spectacular to imagine specially if he knocks out Cotto...that's the the main thing in this kind of promotion.I'll take Pacquiao just exactly do that in round six.

Cotto will drop dead on 3rd or 4th round...SURE

If Cotto wins convincingly, I'll give him all the credit in the world he deseves. As a filipino, I'm rooting for Manny to win, but if he gets beaten by Cotto, that just means Cotto is the better fighter period.

its very difficult to decide whose gonna win with this fight. Cotto was and still a best boxer. he is a best body puncher. pacquiao two losses came from a body punching from torrecampo a filipino fighter and from a certain thailander for manny first title defense. We know that he was hurt with his last fight with marquez with a body shot at round 8. But pacquiao since then he is develop to a very good boxer, he used his speed with timing, maintain his speed even increasing his weight and who can knockout with one punch even a bigger than him. This will be unpredictable fight whose gonna win. I am a fan of manny pacman pacquiao.

Wishful thinking.., for Cotto. He better get a goodnight sleep, he looked like he's seen a ghost. He's having insomnia recalling the 2nd round "picture perfect punch" of Hatton.

No one of the fighter is in difficult position. I am in difficult position to predict or analyze of what will be the outcome of this november 14 fight. But for sure this will be a good match up.

We hope so derf

If Cotto believes that he will win this fight because of his abilities and greatness, then i will ask him to do these:
a)make the 145lb weight at weigh in 13 Nov 2009 b)avoid paying fine for extra pound(s)and try to shed them off for another try at the scale c)don't low blow Pacquiao and making the excuses that they were accidental If he does these things, then i will respect him as a great fighter. |

|
Even this "3<MD+,%30,%55,%70> 1/<MD-,%0,%55,%70>2 years" (3-1/2years) is mangled...Cotto is in for a real trouble indeed. lol

I agree that Cotto will not get as much credit beating Pacquiao as Pacquiao will get beating Cotto. But that's bc Pacquiao is the heavy favorite and is on a roll knocking fighters out. Not many people are wanting Cotto to win as the betting odds indicate. What makes the fight appealing is not only are there 2 knockout artists duking it out but it's the story of a little man fighting a naturally bigger man, kind of like a David vs Goliath type of story, which people like to see. Cotto is definitely ready but I don't believe his natural strength is going to be enough to defeat Pacquiao. Simply being strong is not enough. He's done everything he can to get in superb shape for this fight. I agree he is ready to kill Pacquiao. But as serious as he is, Pacquiao is just light years ahead in terms of speed. Pacquiao may not be as strong as Cotto but he packs a hard enough punch to cause damage and win a decision if he doesn't knock Cotto out. The only way Cotto can win this fight is if he throws a lot of low blows to weaken Pacquiao, which has happened in previous fights such as with Zab Judah. If Pacquiao continues to land at will, it's going to be lighs out for Cotto. As Pacquiao's camp has said, PacMan is much stronger and faster now than he was for the Hatton fight. And Cotto himself said a punch that knocked Hatton out can even knockout Mike Tyson. If Cotto gets hit by one of those, it's lights out Cotto.

Phil Landman said the weight issue is not a problem but the so calle experys know it all and has a ready made excuses!!!
|

Yes, I believed in the strength of Cotto because he is a natural Welterweight, he is an inch taller and he will surely come in heavier in the ring on the fight night. Cotto is powerful, really. But lo, before he can unleash his power punch, he already received a barage of punches from the Pacman. He could hardly catch Pacman because of Pac's excellent footwork and movement.
Whether the fight can be finished early or in 12, Pacman will be the victor because of his speed, precision shots, excellent footwork and a big heart. God bless them both! |
