Former Webster Bank Teller Sentenced For Stealing
A Windsor man was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in New Haven to six months home confinement for stealing $278,000 from Webster Bank branch on North Main Street in West Hartford, where he formerly worked as the head teller.
According to information presented in court, Daniel Caramazza, 40, of Poquonock Avenue stole the money from the bank vault over four months in 2007. When Caramazza surrendered to the FBI on October 24, 2007, he handed agents a duffel bag containing $190,150.
He told authorities, according to information presented in court, that he spent some of the money at the Bradley Teletheater in Windsor Locks and used some for living expenses while traveling between Connecticut, Atlantic City, N.J., and Florida. Read more

No jail time for stealing $278,000?
I guess non-violent crime can really pay off. |

I love it. Nice to see the courts are taking care of our own. This is the way it needs to be. White man rules the land we live in.

This guy is a dirtbag who stole from a bank and he gets NO JAIL ...... the courts really suck a$$

|

let me clarify .... the courts really s-u-c-k- a$$

Do you know how much it costs to imprison someone,@ 35 k a year. For non-violent guy like this, the sentence was appropriate. I'd rather have a tax break. |

have you ever seen the douche-bags that hang out at the bradley tele theater? they wear members only jackets and have extreme body odor.
white collar crime against a company is victimless, he should go free. This bank will forclose on your home, and charge you $3.00 ATM fees beacause its "company policy." There is only a crime if one gets caught, he should've a small portion of the cash at the ethic minority janitor, JR teller, or presidents homes. |

Federal courts are as bad as state courts. Hire a connected lawyer and you get a sweet plea deal. How is stealing for his gambling addiction different than a heroin junkie shoplifting or burgalizing cars?

I cannot believe someone like this gets off with such a ridiculas sentence! He steals a huge amount of money and does no jail time? What kind of justice system is this country anyways? My God, I get a speeding ticket and lose my license for a month or so, this guy, Wow, he got off easy. This makes no sense. This was investigated by the FBI and this is the outcome? He should do time for a long time - what's with the home arrest? That is a joke of our justice system.

well, had he been something other than a white boy, he would've received a couple years if not twenty five-to life.......Justice.....Nah, it's Just US, huh?

Don't forget, if this were NYC he'd have also been shot 50 times. |
