I eat there pretty regular. Just remember it is a sports bar and themed as so. Food has always been pretty good and is not going to be a speedy process due to it being a sports bar/ grill. They want atmosphere and that is how you get it. Delay the food so you drink more and solicalize.  (Aug 14, 2012 | post #7)

There are multiple health care facitlities in the County that the nurses are in the Steelworkers union. Why do yo think most nurses in the County work in Parkersburg or Charleston. The pay is double.  (Aug 10, 2012 | post #127)

Come on y'all work this out as fast as possible. Believe it not the County needs you for your and the Companies Tax dollars. Along with every business that pays B&O taxes. Violence will not achieve anything and niether will destruction of property. The days of " Hoffa " are long past and just make the situation worse. I really feel for you but that sediment is changing daily - especially when there is so many people out there willing to work without the 10 year cylce of striking and violence. JUST REMEMBER THE COUNTY NEEDS YOU. And with the PSC asking for the rest of us to burden the cost from AEP to get the other side open do NOT burn bridges you need for your support. Please consider this when you are making descions that affect alot more people than just yourself. Best of luck and heres hoping to a quick resolution.  (Aug 10, 2012 | post #108)

Maybe the reason he has no job is that his Union screwed him - yet again. I feel for him but until the unoins let the workers voice be heard and not the greedy union reps. the worker will always be placed on a picket line.  (Aug 8, 2012 | post #40)

The Union has once again brainwashed the good people at this facility. Seriously - you have a job and a good paying job. IF you only knew what the rest of the work force pays for insurance. Just for kick why don't you union workers call your local insurance agency and get a quote for a family of 4 with a 80/20 split with a $2500 deductable. BUT PLEASE BE SITTING DOWN when you get the answer becasue it will scare the crap out of you. Then tell me why you are not willing to take a $25 per week increase to keep your job. I am paying about $100 a week and am lucky to have the option for insurance through my company because if not I could never afford it. I don't believe that any employer should bear the total cost of insurance ( they would just pay less per hour ) nor should I have to reley on the Government for insurance.  (Aug 6, 2012 | post #16)

Jackson General Hospital

How does the fact that the Hospital did not have a float in the parade have anything to do with worker's pay.  (Jul 10, 2012 | post #3)

Did the Jackson Co. goverment help with storm relief?

What are the County officials going to do to provide this many people power. The GOVERNOR issued a STATE of EMERGENCY for the entire State. Not only that but how would you ask for the County to be more prepared for a storm that is so rare. Keep ice ready, or build a new power source that only we would have not the other million in WV alone. Really!!!!!!!  (Jul 9, 2012 | post #12)

Government aid is the problem with this State and Country. Make do for yourselves. I don't want or expect the Government to help me. I have a solution that will fix a couple of problems. Make all the welfare people that test positive for drugs go work on keeping the right of ways clear for the power lines. This will make the lines clear from downed trees and give the TAX PAYERS value for government spent tax dollars.  (Jul 9, 2012 | post #10)

Breaking into little league concession stand

Maybe the Mayor should look at the Police Chief and ask why there are more drugs and crime in Ripley and also why there is so many distractions within the Dept with investigations of officiers. It sure seems as though more interest is paid to making sure tickets are written at parking meters than crimes against citizens.  (Jun 4, 2012 | post #15)

These are all volunteers. They do the best they can. Why should they be told they are to blame when the place was BROKEN INTO. I assume that most people would agree that if something was locked then it should be safe.  (Jun 1, 2012 | post #7)

Nice post and couldn't agree more. By the time the girls get to middle school they should have basic skill set and understanding of the game and then the " paid coaches " need to mold and fine tune them into a team. I was lucky enough to coach for a few years for the little league girls teams and I had more fun and thoughly enjoyed watching them learn. I never looked at anyones name when I drafted my players or put them in any position. I guess that was a benefit of not being from here, ignorance is bliss  (Apr 3, 2012 | post #12)

ENOUGH I moved here 15 yrs ago I have been very active in the all the kids sports leagues but becasue I have been don't mean that my kids should get preferred anything. I want the best for them but I don't expect any results other than the one they recieve upon their own merit. Yes there is always small town politics but I have to believe the most skilled kids will shine and be giving the chance to perform. LET THE KIDS ENJOY THIS TIME BECAUSE THEY ONLY GET IT ONCE.  (Apr 2, 2012 | post #6)
