dang, I was having fun until it started to look alot like Christmas..love the stones vid...great pics. yea, Kried for thedays 4 thru 10, its pretty rough, but I dont know why people try to compare it to heroin..it definatly sucks, but its different, and very much doable....sometime s I think it may be worse mentally than physiaclly...maybe with the jitters and anxiety and sleepless nights, thats what is really hard after the physical stuff is over, but like I said, there are so many things you can take that make the whole experience less intense and make it go by quicker...there a guy named jay on the mental and physical thread that is taking a bunch of supplimebts, which is really KEY...some people dont but natural remedies, from all the guys here that have been through the methadone withdrawals will vouch that there are some inportant things that really help, you just have to be patient. its all very doable, and seeing your counsolor is huge too, like i said methadone seems to effect you mentally, and coming here to just shoot the shit really helps with that part too.......it helps to talk to people who have been exactly where you are, and somehow that helps ease your mind.....hang in, zen (8 hrs ago | post #266)

Jay, Sounds to me like your doing everything exactly right...im glad that you are taking all the vitamins and suppliments, so people dont realize how EXTERELY IMPORTANT it is to replace all the deleted vits, that you lost through methadone...the flax seed oil is huge.... also two biggies are to drink as much water as you can, and see if you can find a place with a sauna, either the ymce or a fitness club...saunas help you sweat out the toxins...all in all, its most important to speed up your withdrawlas...I think some people expect to feel better right away when they take suppliments, and they give up when they dont see immediate results, then go through 4 months of stronger withdrawals than need be....All that your doing will make you feel better faster....as for the mental part, sometimes it helps to just come on here and vent.... good for you, Jay...You should be PROUD, its a huge accomplishment!!.k eep the faith, zen (8 hrs ago | post #20165)

HEY KRIED, yeah, you will unfortunatly have withdrawals, do you have a plan? it would be A really good idea to join the people over at the thread "methadone withdrawals mental and physical" the people over there have seen so amny through there withdrawals with support and good advice, all of them including myself have been through cold turkey withdrawals, and as hard as they can be, its a grat place to get help to make the withdrawals less difficult..theres two people now who are in your possition, anthony and tiffiny that are going through withdrawals now, and they too and help you by you just seeing how well they are doing.. vini and the reat of the veterans over there have tons of helpful tips and things to take to see you through this...its not easy but its very doable, so sont worry, it goes by in time and everyone will tell you that they al ALL feel a million times better by doing it. please come on over and introduce your self. Just a few pointers before you start, see if your dr will prescribe chlonodine for you, its a low blood pressure medicine that really helps with wds...also you might have trouble sleeping, have you already noticed problems sleeping as you have been cutting down? most everyone tries melatonin and tylenol pm and if that doesnt work, a low dose of adavan, or clonopin might be prescribed, just for a short time. but mostly, ther are loads of other things you can do to help you along that are tried and true..things that people have done over the coarse of many withdrawals that really work...different vitimin mixes, saunas to sweat out the toxins and loads of water... going cold turkey doesnt have to be so bad if you have the right tools and people helping you along, and you wont find the kind of support you will get here...and trust me, you may not think you need the support so much, until you try it...I dont know how i would have made it so far without the friends i have made here...and trust me, this aint no aa or na meeting, you can say whatever is on your mind...hope to hear from you...good luck, and keep the faith........bette r days are to come.
