JOKE : Ho Chi Minh, Dang Cong San, Viet Cong, VEM, Uncle Ho

================== === Interesting thing happened to me today; I had a run in with the law! http://www.mytripj ournal.com/travel- Vietnam-Ho_Chi_Min h_City ================== === I am sure if you have been to any Asian city, you will know there are millions of motorbikes (no joke). Well in Ho Chi Minh City this is the same; the bikes do not seem to follow any road rules; in fact during our trip we would say to stop at a red stop light is a guideline and not a rule because nobody stops. This is the same as a one way street; the one way is the way you are going and your mate may be going the other way; that’s ok as he is only going 1 way. The footpaths; they are only for pedestrians, as long as there is not a traffic jam and the bikes take it over. Are you getting my point; there does not seem to be any rules as such; however, that was until this morning. I decided to take a nice walk in the park; I had my ipod in and sat and watched the people. I was having a lovely time just watching and listening to music that I lay on the seat tapping my foot to the beat. Well you can imagine that this is no big deal as you don’t need to stop at a red light; well actually, no it was a big deal. I had a police man come running up to me saying in very broken English; GET UP, GET UP. I asked him can I lay down (clearly not understanding he said yes. So I lay down again; GET UP, GET UP, no lie. So finally I got the message. I can run a red light but I can’t lie and enjoy the parks in Vietnam. It was interesting; I did have a little fun with the policeman when I lay on the bench the 2nd time. He didn’t seem to get too upset; however, I did sit on the seat for another half an hour. While the I was sitting on the bench that policeman watched me like a hawk. ================== ==== Zenom  (7 hrs ago | post #153)

VCpedia : Ve "Con COC" - VC Verse

================== ==== PhD Thesis - What's New? ================== ==== Many readers concerned the Phd policy will lead to race of degreed qualifications. Instead of dedicating to scientific research, people will "Dr" is the pedal for promotion. If the brain does not change state "born" with strategies for the short or long-term staff Not to mention, Ph.D. in Vietnam has not been recognized in the world "In my district (a secondary tier management of a city or province in Vietnam), many bureaucrates not only have an 'on the job' bachelor degree but, they manage somehow, accquire a Ph.D. in economic, Dr of agriculture ... Just imagine, what can we expect any breaktrough from them ?" Reader Minh Son (Hai Phong) stated his opinion ================== ==== According reader Nguyen Hung (Thanh Hoa), in many government levels, there appear "trimming feet to fit the shoes" ================== ==== Because, everytime a standard is set, there will be a type of training fit the new standard. For example, If cadres need to legalizing the bachelor degree, then immediately, an 'on the job' university will be created in the local to fill the requirement; ditto for master degree. "A vice president of a district can cut through by the following: completion of junior high school, 2 years of supplementary education, 3 years with 'on the job' college of agriculture and forestry. And now, he's with 'on the job' University of Agriculture and Forestry . If his job qualification requires higher degree, it's quite possible for him to 'earn' a master degree or even a Ph.D this way" Reader Hung observed ================== ==== Zenom  (10 hrs ago | post #208)
