Dendritic polymers have apparent advantages as PA modifiers. 1) Blends of dendrimer and PA6 can improve its tensile strength, bending strength, impact strength etc.2) Improve rheological properties (improve melt fluidity, lower plasticizing temperature).3) Compatilizer for PA6, PP or other nylon, such as PA11, PA1010 , improve both compatibility and mechanical properties.4) Improve dispersion of glass fibers, carbon fibers and various inorganic fillers in PA6. 5) Decrease spinning temperature of nylon to reduce thermal degradation.6) Endow PA6 with excellent low temperature toughness, thereby increase performance of low temperature resistance. Dendritic polymers can greatly improve performance of PA. (PA66, PA6) 1) Apparently improve melt index compared with pure PA6, when dosage was 2.0%, melt index increased by 41.3%, 46.1%, 37%, 36.1% at 235℃, 245℃, 255℃, 265℃.2) Compared with pure PA6, injection molding temperature was decreased 10℃ with 0.5% dendrimer, decreased 15℃ with 2.0%, decrease spinning temperature of nylon to reduce thermal degradation. 3) Improve mechanical properties of PA6, yield strength, tensile strength, notched impact strength, bending strength was increased by 12.8%, 30.8%, 44.2%, 17.5% with dosage of 2.0%. Dendrimer can greatly improve performance of PET. PET has disadvantages of slow crystallization rate, poor impact strength, low melt containing, this limits application in plastic material. Modified dendrimer was added into PET to obtain composite material with tensile strength increased to 68.76MPa, increased by 164.16% compared with standard one, max impact strength reached 5.21kJ·m2, increased by 52.34% compared with standard one, and no effect on crystal form. Research of epoxy curing agent shows that dendrimer can low volume shrinkage of curing resin, increase tensile strength, impact strength, but bending strength and heat resistance was little decreased. With 10% dendrimer, tensile strength and impact strength was increased by 150% and 500%, toughening effect was obvious.
