Yup name it after SGT. Buzzard. As an Army vet myself, I couldn't agree more. I didn't know Jason but I was there at his home-coming to pay my respect. Once a soldier, always a soldier. He and his family most certainly deserve that respect. (Friday | post #6)

Willits boy seriously hurt in rollover
Hey Mike, don't you Lake County people drive bad enough with out TRYING to roll your car?! ;-) Last time I checked a Montero was a 7 passenger vehicle with out children's car seats taking up room. I count 8 including the child that was hurt. I hope he is going to be OK. Stupid people, see it CAN happen to you... (Wednesday Dec 9 | post #3)
New Ukiah restaurant under construction
This project has been in the works for a long time now. I am glad to see they've got started and it's becoming a reality. Good luck to the owners, we look forward to visiting the establishment! (Thursday Nov 19 | post #24)
Oh and I forgot to address your question regarding why non-Ukiahans were voting? IF you had been following this whole issue then you'd know that the propsed plan for this mall is in county limits not city, that there is no city/county tax sharing revenue agreement meaning that the money generaged by this mall would go to the county NOT the city of Ukiah. It is/was more of a county issue than an Ukiah city issue. Make sense now? (Nov 12, 2009 | post #2)
And I bet you signed that petition to have the measure put on the ballot right? Sure you did. Then you argued that we should let the democratic process run its course... let the voters decide right? Sure you did. And you used that argument that we need this mall to keep our tax base local right? Sure you did. Yet you'll continue to be hypocritical and feed the exact issue you used as your argument in support of A and shop south right? Sure you will. And you'll continue to believe that since A was defeated then we can't have our mall right? Sure you will. Because you, the ignorant, never REALLY knew that this measure was NOTHING about the mall did you? No you didn't. Seems to me the real ignorance is coming from those who really thought this DDR venture was a fix all to our local problems. Oh and guess what, DDR STILL owns the property, they can STILL submit their plans (albeit they need to be complete this time) to develop this mall. The ignorance is coming from those who think just because A was defeated that DRR isn't able to follow the process to build. IF DDR really wants to build this mall... they will. And guess what? Majority wins; the masses have spoken, haven't they? They sure have. Get over it. (Nov 12, 2009 | post #1)
Wow, you're not a sore loser or anything huh? Get back to us when you have something worthwhile to say. (Nov 10, 2009 | post #1)
County: Masonite site's future in DDR's hands
I have to say well said Mike. I agree with you that this is one of the most beautiful places I've been as well and as I've said, I am fairly well travelled. You bring up some valid points I can't argue with except that I didn't see DDR being the answer to these issues and never will. Back to the hypocrisy part though, you don't consider telling people to boycott Ukiah business and encouraging them to spend their money south an "...attempt to tell us how to live and even where to shop..." to use your own words? The very thing you say is hypocritical? Mike you're kinda proving my point for me. Thanks man. (Nov 10, 2009 | post #68)
In our opinion - Now the work begins
ROFL, man Mike, I couldn't sit through that myself! But I suppose I could wear a button for a week IF you're right. I hope your not, but history says otherwise this I know. I will say this. This whole venture has really got me interested in where these problems lay. I don't want you to be right, any more than you do, really. So what do we do? I don't want to see that place sit any more than you do. I really don't care if it stays industry or not albeit it WOULD be ideal if this green friendly business dream could come true. While you and I have disagreed on many thing regarding this issue I think in the end we have similar goals, just I didn't think DDR was the right answer. Now that A is over what can we do to really fix this situation? Personally I am going to see how I can get more involved. The issues you rant about are real; I understand that and... get ready for it... "I agree with you." I just don't want to believe they are not fixable. Anyway thanks for the laugh this morning Mike, hope you have a great day. (Nov 10, 2009 | post #14)
In our opinion - Now the work begins
Huh, doesn't surprise me we disagree yet again Mike. Normally I think what the UDJ has to say IS hogwash, however what they have said here IS what needs to happens. What IS hogwash is that you actually believe 62% of the voters are no-growth advocates who run the city and the county? Now THAT'S shallow if you ask me, but you didnt so... Thought you said you were "over it" regarding this issue? By the way... when you're finished with it, can I borrow that crystal ball of yours? Thanks. (Nov 9, 2009 | post #4)
County: Masonite site's future in DDR's hands
Yea I figured you knew that, you seem like a SMRT guy. And thanks for the history lesson. I'm certainly not telling you to leave Ukiah, instead just curious why you chose to stay in a place you refuse to support, can't agree with political views, think businesses are overpriced, rude and provide poor service, and feel the town scenery is unattractive just to name a few things you've mentioned. By all means, stay where you're not happy, makes sense to me... well not really. Don't think I didn't notice your avoidance of the REAL issue either. You know... the hypocritical part? Yea... that. County: Masonite site's future in DDR's hands
LOL, good one. Came here in '78 as well but I didn't have a choice to move here as I was but a kid. As a young man I travelled the world or a better part of it anyway and chose to come back and stay here for many reasons. BTW Mike, disco died a long time ago, you're now free to move about the country, or to Sonoma county anyway. (Nov 9, 2009 | post #46)
County: Masonite site's future in DDR's hands
Who's gloating? Doesn't sound like you've moved on to me. This is the hypocrisy I talked about in the other thread where 'resident' thought he could attack my character. I've read most of your rants during this whole thing and one of your biggest arguments was the loss of tax revenue for the county due to money spent south. Yet since A lost you're making a point now NOT to spend your money local. You even threw out the word Boycott in one of your other posts. How you do you use that as your argument in support of A one day, then contribute to the exact problem the next? Remind us again why you still choose to live here Mike, honestly? (Nov 9, 2009 | post #44)
Obviously my last post was directed to Resident. Also the college library may have texts for the course you are taking as well. Often times the instructors will put one in there. You can't check them out but you can photo copy what you need from them. I went that route many times too. And don't forget to check those bulletin boards for other students selling books, but my guess is you know that already. Good luck. (Nov 5, 2009 | post #51)
So I am sitting here on a break, kinda bored and I know I should just let this lie but just as you get 'all fired up over hypocritical people' I get fired up when someone attacks my personal character when they don't even know me then tries to justify it with a bunch of fodder. So here is a challenge for you. All my posts are right here I can't change them. So please... I have broken down your gross accusations of my character and I would LOVE for you to cut and paste your proof that I have said or am guilty of ANY of these rude things you accuse me of. "As for your current pious remarks it was you and your “Equestrian Fecal Matter” response that got me upset." What pious remarks? And you got upset because I said people having to shop south is horse manure? Aren't I entitled to my opinion? "You cite that you have 'modest' income but you are well above the average median household income, which clearly places your statement you said earlier as hypocritical. " Hypocritical? How so? Define a modest income? I have already defined it based on my opinion. I never claimed to have a median income. "you pretended to be of lower income, while chastising those who truly are in lower incomes, calling them 'south shoppers' along with claiming that they are ignorant, hypocritical and childish, which is exactly how your rants are." Please show us all where I said ANYTHING about low income, or pretended to be poor or chastised anyone from ANY income level. How about where I said low income 'south shoppers' are hypocritical and childish. "especially when someone of your income pretends to be poor and calls people of my income level as ignorant" Now show us where I pretended to be poor and called people of your income level ignorant, mind you I have NO idea what 'your' income level is (or was before this rant) And again please cut and paste ANYTHING I have said regarding anyone's income level other then my own. "your attitude and your distain for those who have little is not an enviable trait." And where did you get this? Please cut and paste where I said my distain for those who have little. And as for your comment about the Ethiopian child that I would complain about? Well you'd hang your head in shame if you knew what I did for a living after making that comment. So, go ahead. I'm waiting. If you can prove with MY own words... not yours, that I am guilty of these things I will publically apologize right here. When you can't then well you can apologize to me.
