Not so. Most empires totally crush civil rights. Civil rights are definitely the exception, not the rule. So if there are sides in history, then those fighting for civil rights would be on the wrong side historically. You not what you speak. And since marriage is quite obviously a privilege that many people never get to enjoy, or do not even want, your barking up the wrong tree. Your civil rights are being destroyed by claiming everything under the sun is now a civil right.  (Tuesday | post #806)

Proof of bigotry, you heard it here folks. Blaming the whole Baptist Convention for the cult of a tiny minority. I think we can safely ignore your posts from here on out. No one needs take you seriously now when you expose yourself as such a total fraud. Bye bye  (Tuesday | post #804)

LOL! As if you know anything about God. Just look to Sodom, or Canaan, for examples of what God thinks.  (Tuesday | post #801)

But your argument is based on the principle that marriage has nothing to do with procreation ... therefore why are you not fighting for adult incest marriage as well? Or polygamy? You see, if you are defending only one type, you are not for "marriage equality." You must fight for all types if you are honest. We are merely trying to point out something very simple.  (Tuesday | post #800)

Not at all. You always use "rights" to deflect from the facts. Marriage is a specific type of organization, a special partnership, like corporations, governments, etc. Do you have a right to own a corporation? No, that is a privilege given to you by the state. Do you have a right to friends? No, friendship is ALSO a privilege based upon whether someone wants to put up with you or not. Therefore, it is an absolute fact that marriage cannot be a right. You cannot make people satisfy your desire to be married to a certain person. So, if you are attempting to make ALL FORMS OF PARTNERSHIPS EQUAL, then you eliminate the need to use words for special kinds of partnerships. And we have not even entered into social obligations yet.  (Tuesday | post #799)

Why don't you answer the question? If you are for "marriage equality" then you must be for ALL forms of marriage, right?  (Tuesday | post #797)

Calling someone a bigot is worse than telling someone to shut up. You just proved your hypocrisy, yet again. It's just so easy.  (Tuesday | post #794)

No it's not. Are you trying to make yourself feel better by believing you are on the "right side of history?" LOL! I'm sure the Christians were told that by the Romans many times. I'm sure the American colonists were told that by the British many times. We shall see.  (Tuesday | post #793)

Yep, just like the states back in the 1800's rejoiced when slavery was defended. As if popular consent makes something good. The Aztecs and the Germans should have taught you that. But alas, Americans have become the most ignorant people on the planet, and will pass any law now. How marvelous.  (Tuesday May 14 | post #754)

Right, Lobo, exactly. When you have no arguments, you revert to insults and bigotry. You openly promote ONE group, but deny the rights of ANOTHER group. You heard it here folks, proof positive that Lobo is a bigot by his own admission. :)  (Tuesday May 14 | post #753)

Of course you are, when you make assumption that people are being bigots for disagreeing on this issue, that is an attempt to silence them with personal attacks. It is never acceptable, for any reason. And you have done no such thing. I have been pointing out errors and fact and logic the whole time, and not a single person has come out with a single, logical argument supporting why this word or concept should be redefined by a minority. Do you have one? And yes, trying to get the majority of people to accept marriage as something different is imposing their lifestyle on us. Just as YOU feel Creationists should be banned from school, because they impose their Christian lifestyle on you. Hypocritical much? We are not trying to change anything. The whole world has declared for thousands of years what marriage is in countless languages and cultures. A very ancient concept universally agreed upon by all cultures, either as monogamy or polygamy. It is also very ancient. One man, one woman has been around for 3000 years with the Greeks, who being rebels to the Semitic peoples who believed in polygamy for a time. Most Native Americans accepted only monogamy, as do countless tribes around the world, from the Maori of New Zealand to the Nubians of Africa. And now the gay rights activists come along and call US bigots? I think not. And yes, you are no better than the KKK in this matter. When people lose their jobs because they disagree with you, that is discrimination, hate, and bigotry in action. You might have most people fooled for now, but eventually people are going to wake up and realize their civil rights to believe as they wish about marriage was always OK, and perfectly legitimate. But again, you are welcome to come up with a good argument why the whole world should change how they think about marriage  (Monday May 13 | post #748)

Why are you lying about other people? So when rational arguments fail, you resort to ad hominem attacks? Copy and paste evidence of his words, if you dare. We will see who the liar is.  (Saturday May 11 | post #746)

If you tried to silence the KKK, then of course. If you tried to claim they are wrong without explaining it, absolutely. Two wrongs don't make a right. And the use of such an analogy is absurd. Marriage was established by millions of people and born from social evolution. The KKK are a tiny, insignificant minority and special interests group that has no standing, trying to impose their will on others ... just like the gay special interests group is. So, for the same reason, both special interest groups forcing their will on everyone else is equally bigoted, and ignorant  (Saturday May 11 | post #745)

Yeah, but same-sex marriage advocates ARE the special interests group violating people's basic civil liberties not to accept or acknowledge such a ridiculous notion as same-sex marriage. I don't think you agree. I bet you are OK with people being forced to accept same-sex marriage, right?  (Friday May 10 | post #742)
