Doc faces jail over charges of fondling patients

Good doctor Mike? You haven't been to a good doctor if you think this man is one. 14 yrs ago, I joined my mother when she needed to be seen by him. While examining her, she told him about another issue than she was being seen for. His response? "Only one issue per appointment. If you want me to look at that, you need to schedule another appointment" That was the last time she saw him. The man is an incompetent boob.  (Jun 3, 2008 | post #11)

OxyContin maker combats crime!

Very true. The manufacturer only shares part of the blame. It is time the DEA cracked down on doctors who are writing too many prescriptions. Sadly, many of these doctors, even when caught, face little to no punishment. Dr Korabathina, who flooded west Pasco for years with this stuff was arrested in 2006, but never spent a night in jail. He never will. The judge ordered him to serve five years of probation, to complete 200 hours of community service in the first year, and banned him from prescribing controlled substances for five years. He voluntarily relinquished his medical license, before the state Board of Medicine could review his case. http://www.doh.sta te.fl.us/mqa/Final Orders/03-10-06/DO H-06-0192-ESO.pdf http://www.baynews 9.com/content/36/2 006/2/2/142245.htm l http://myfloridale gal.com/webfiles.n sf/WF/MRAY-6LLTVS/ $file/KorabathinaA rrestAffidavit.pdf http://www.sptimes .com/2007/11/24/He rnando/Boy__12__re scued_when.shtml If these doctors are only to receive a slap on the wrist, how do we expect to solve the problem?  (May 22, 2008 | post #10)

OxyContin maker combats crime!

Purdue was supposed to encapsulate the opiates in OxyContin, so that it would not be as addictive, or deadly when crushed. This month, it sought FDA approval of a new formulation, but it doesn't seem any better. Purdue would only sell lower OxyContin doses in the new, coated form while still selling higher, 60- and 80-milligram doses in the original form. The FDA doubts the newer version is actually less addictive. http://www.webmd.c om/pain-management /news/20080506/fda -panel-nixes-abuse -proof-oxycontin Purdue Pharma is being sued by Pike County, Kentucky for reimbursement of costs asscoiated with addiction. http://ag.ky.gov/n ews/purduepharmasu it.htm This company has made millions off the addiction of our nation! How is this RxPatrol program going to help? This is not a new program! It was started in 2003, and the roberries have even gotten worse in the last 5 years!  (May 21, 2008 | post #7)

Tampa prepares for historic visit by Senator Obama

I think this was supposed to be directed at me. Neither were premature, both have different "donors" (although in my house we call them daddy) and if it were simply genetic, we wouldn't have the increased numbers of these disorders that we do now. Since you obviously don't know anything about autism, adhd, and other learning disabilities, perhaps you should learn what is causing the increased epidemic we have. You can start by looking at the standard American diet, and childhood vaccinations.  (May 21, 2008 | post #91)

Police: Mom's food spiked

Maybe she can get locked up, and hopefully get some help for awhile. Probably won't get any help though, and be released at 18 to live amongst us all. Pretty scary, to poison your own mom's food. Wonder what she would do to someone that DIDN'T give birth to her...  (May 21, 2008 | post #2)

House considering ban on controversial chemical in toys

mammablue, don't let idiots like Don get under your skin. I am sure he probably is in favor of keeping mercury in our kid's vaccines, too. I would like to see the studies that support Don's views though. Perhaps he is willing to enlighten us by backing up his statements with cited sources.  (May 21, 2008 | post #8)
