Coyote sightings on the rise

Calling the Sheriff? oh thats funny. Hell in Lakewood they would not show up in a timely fashion even if the coyote killed you. But really folks. Coyotes fear people a lot. Leave them alone. They are cleaning up all the stray cats for us. Good job coyotes! When the food goes away they move on.  (Oct 1, 2010 | post #10)

Planet lakewood. Again back up your comments. Look at the agenda on line. 2 pages. taken down and not archived. now if you trek to the library the agendas are 100 pages. But well hidden at the lib. Thats the way city hall likes it. You want to see the meat you have to work for it. We are not going to post it as that makes stuff too easy to see. Kool aid anyone? www.laag.us  (Sep 17, 2010 | post #8)

In case you have not noticed nothing is in public in lakewood. Nothing. The city council meetings, the minutes and the agendas are all white washed and contain no REAL info. Never will. Just like in Bell keep everything form the voters. They dont need to know anything. As long as the grass is green in the park shut up. lol www.laag.us  (Sep 15, 2010 | post #6)

No he did not really earn it. About 2% of what he will be paid is what he paid in form his own salary (still tax dollars) the rest is all NEW tax dollars. Calpers lost 40% last year. wake up and read http://www.laag.us /2010/09/getting-o ut-while-getting-i s-good.html  (Sep 15, 2010 | post #5)

Crime goes up we need more police and a big raise. Crime goes down we need more police and a big raise. Keep beating that drum. Show me the connection between crime rates and actual number of police on the streets and Ill show you some good deals on foreclosed homes... www.laag.us  (Sep 14, 2010 | post #31)

Calling the Lakewood sheriff's is totally useless. Save your dime. All they do is drive around in their cars making personal cell phone calls. We called on a burglary in process and the sheriff showed up an hour later asking "where are they" We said oh they took the stuff and left about 50 minutes ago" lol Neighborhood watch and citizens arrests are great. If we have them why do we need police? www.laag.us  (Sep 14, 2010 | post #30)

reader wrote: Copters ensure our safety Re "Copter madness" (Speakout, Aug. 31): To the Speakout caller who complained about the sheriff's helicopters that fly over Lakewood all day: Last Friday we had two burglars in our neighborhood. Many sheriff's units blocked off the street while the helicopter (Sky Knight) circled the neighborhood to ensure our safety, in the event the two suspects ran into another home. Thank you, L.A. sheriff. Keep flying! Rich Buonocore Lakewood www.LAAG.us Reply: The copters are there to assist cops for their safety NOT ours. Secondly from your post it does not appear clear at all how the copter helped. The suspects ran into another home? So did the copter prevent that no? How did the copter help? How would you know unless you interviewed the LASD officers there? Do you always believe what cops tell you? Are their pensions also there to insure your safety? Finally perhaps it was the sound of the copter that made the suspects flee into the other home like scared animals running from the noise of a helicopter. Did you ask the suspects why they ran? This is the problem with most "pro law enforcement" people. They just make unfounded assumptions about things based on a bunch of costly stuff that cops want as toys with no validated scientific evidence that they work or rather are worth the extra LARGE costs. I suppose it would be best if we put a cop on every street corner? want to pay for that? MIGHT help!!?  (Sep 3, 2010 | post #9)

Long Beach residents focus on key issues at budget meetings

ok then what are the gas and water rates for comparison to the private utilities? I guess the the fact that LB has SCE sorta makes my point. All cities need to post all utility rates and factor in taxes not on the bill into the rate.  (Aug 21, 2010 | post #45)
