western regional jail

And the reason they are there is supposed to be rehabilitation. I think the guards should be properly trained to do just that... rehabilitate. Would you rather inmates be treated with some dignity and hope so that when they come out they just might be a productive member of society? Or treated like dogs so they will come out and bite you in the ass again?  (Nov 28, 2012 | post #73)

So you started this whole thread with the intent of bashing the area residents, because apparently that seemed like fun to you, but now that they are bashing you it is not so fun anymore? If you can't take it then don't dish it out.  (Nov 24, 2012 | post #89)

Wondering what kind of person he is?

Well, if he is really interested in you and is a good guy he should have no problem proving it. Ask to see his divorce papers.  (Nov 24, 2012 | post #4)

If he is still married to his wife you shouldn't be thinking or asking about him.  (Nov 24, 2012 | post #2)

Bartender... set 'em up! This round is on me and make it doubles. :) There's this drunk standing out on the street corner, and a cop passes by, and says, "What do you think you're doing?" The drunk says, "I heard the world goes around every 24 hours, and I'm waiting on my house. Won't be long now, there goes my neighbor."  (Nov 24, 2012 | post #6)

Some people are just chronic complainers and social media gives them an easy way to get their kicks. You rarely see these people saying or doing anything to give encouragement to anyone. They lack compassion, common sense and the ability to just have fun. Such a pitiful way to waste your life. Next time you go on vacation, vacationeer (and I am not even convinced you are using that word correctly but I am not here to correct you) why don't you try to focus on the good parts of your journey instead of nitpicking the towns residents.  (Nov 24, 2012 | post #68)

I am so tired of hearing all the bad sh*t...

Congratulations, Gypsy!! My kids are grown, not quite ready for children but I look forward to the day that one of them will have my first grandchild! You said 'business is good' and I really think it is... I keep an eye on job postings and I have noticed in the past month or so a steady increase in the number of jobs posted. It could be because of the holiday season coming up but I think it is a little too early for that to make a difference.  (Sep 15, 2012 | post #4)

Congratulations, Plowboy. I would imagine, as I don't have any yet, that there is nothing better than having a knew grand-baby in the family. My mother is doing well. My kids are happy. I have a roof over my head and food on the table. My car starts (most of the time) and the heater works. :) I, too, enjoy simple things. (and Lynrd Skynrd.)  (Sep 15, 2012 | post #2)

smokers_should_have_no_special_rights

Smokers know that it is nasty. They know that it kills you. They know that even if it doesn't kill you it will, eventually, render you unable to breathe. They really don't think how badly their smoking effects non-smokers. They can't smell how bad it stinks because they are around it all the time. I know because I used to be a smoker and walking in and out of buildings now bothers me a great deal. It stinks. Smokers tell themselves that they won't get sick. That it only happens to other people. And that might be true in a few cases but for most of you who smoke, your health will suffer. That fact doesn't seem important when you're young but trust me, when you get older and you start feeling like you are running out of time that fact becomes very important. All of us know someone who has died from smoking related lung cancer or who is connected to an oxygen supply for the rest of their life. Yes, people die everyday but, in today's time, most people ignore the reality that it is not a good idea to poison themselves on a daily basis. All that being said from someone who smoked for 35 years, I send encouragement to those of you trying to quit and congrats to those of you who have quit. And for those of you who still think that smoking is the best thing in the world... that is your addiction telling you that. To the young smokers... Ten or twenty extra years of life may not seem like much, but it is a huge amount of time when you are older and if you continue to smoke now you are chipping away at that time. And to the person who mentioned e-cigs... that's how I finally quit. It's actually better than smoking cigarettes; taste, smell and price. Anyone who is interested can research it.  (Sep 8, 2012 | post #75)

Who Is the Most Famous Person You've Ever Met?

Spoke with Kenny Rogers at a Christmas concert several years ago. He was nice. I didn't get to see them but was told he was traveling with his wife and young twins and hell he was close to 70 at the time. lol Also, worked the Gun & Roses concert. The bands crew were much nicer than the guys in the band. Back in the eighties I worked at the Holiday Inn Gateway in Barboursville. At the time it was the nicest place in town and many celebritries stayed there overnight. Chuck Norris was one of them and he was a nice guy. Iron Maiden stayed as well, and I did get an autograph. They are just people like us and most of them are friendly.  (Aug 25, 2012 | post #82)
