How many Americans are gay? Scholar says 1.7% | The Colum...

I do not belief that 1.7% in this report- It only counts if you claim gay- yet so many men participate in homosexual activities and cling to the straight persona. If you have sex with someone of the same sex, you are gay- PERIOD.  (Apr 8, 2011 | post #45)

California bill would require schools to teach about gays

I love it when the idiots of Franklin County post statements that show just how ignorant they are, and that they are living in 2011 with a 1950's mind set. I suppose all gay, lesbian and transgender people should just go back to living the life style that would please these ignorant, close minded bigots. After all it is more important that we keep those people happy. Teaching about the gay social upheaval is just a part of history we need to sweep under the rug, just like America's racial issues.  (Apr 5, 2011 | post #9)

Wake up people- you need to always assume that a partner is hiv+ and protect yourself. and educate yourself on STD and HIV transmission.  (Mar 17, 2011 | post #12)

Scholarship quandary: 'Full ride' isn't exactly a free ri...

Oh my, those poor football players. What the heck would they do if they had to be a regular undergrad and pay for almost everything. I did not have a scholarship handed to me. Most of us don't, yet we seem to figure it out and survive. It is time for the NCAA to become involved and stop this "I am entitled" attitude. You are not entitled to anything more than any other student. Time for the VEST to make this clear to his little babies.  (Jan 2, 2011 | post #49)

Church friends can boost joy | The Columbus Dispatch

I so agree with the concept that community is important. The feeling of belonging is so important HOWEVER I have many times visited a church ,seeking a house of worship and almost always NO ONE even says hello to the stranger in their midst. And so many of them claim to be warm and welcoming yet that is only in print, never in action. I am a singer and sang in a church in Worthington for years, up front in full view of the congregation Sunday after Sunday, but if I just attend no one in the church speaks to me or acts like they ever recognize me after 18 years- HUM??  (Dec 10, 2010 | post #5)

Gay men's suicides have churches talking

I am sure some will say those who are bullied deserve what they get. I was bullied way back in high school and I still feel the hurt 40 years later-- It IS an issue and it is not just a "gay" thing. Anyone who is not perfect white thin straight man will be bullied by the alpha male who thinks they have to bully to make up for their issues.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #33)

Dorm rooms might go coed | The Columbus Dispatch

I had a gay roommate my freshman yeer- and NOTHING happened- we actually respected each other. Yes that word RESPECT of someone else's beliefs and lifestyle- Now there is an interesting concept.  (Oct 11, 2010 | post #101)
