Constitutional attack

While we watch the attack on our 2nd Amendment to the Constitution, we are overlooking one more serious in the Exectutive Branch's attack on the 5th Amendment. http://en.wikisour ce.org/wiki/United _States_Bill_of_Ri ghts#Amendment_V While we may applaud the attack on Al Qaeda and others by drone that represent an "eminent " threat to the U.S., we are neglecting our right to judicial involvement in reviewing our rights. The "drone white papers" released by (omg! NBC?) shows the Executive Branch's intrusion into this right to fair trials and review. Read the amendment, take a stand! Our rights are being abbrogated by this administration in a subtle but insidious way to take away our basic freedoms by destroying Our Constitutional rights.  (Feb 8, 2013 | post #1)

Constitution under attack

While everyone is focused on the attack on the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of these United States of America (primarily the right to bear arms), we are overlooking a more insidious attack by the administration. Does anyone realize that the 5th Amendment is under attack by the executive branch to take away our right to Liberty? This recent attack has come about in the executive orders in the form of a white paper on attacking American Citizens without the judicial oversight that normally would be brought forth. Read the amendment! Cry out to the representatives and senators that represent us to stop this atrocity.  (Feb 8, 2013 | post #1)

Windstream high-speed 3. megabytes

Needless to say, we are not getting what we are paying for from Windstream. Wherever we are in North Georgia that is serviced by Windstream, we just need good, reliable, high speed internet. Drop outs, unfortunately, are another issue with Windstream, but for another forum.  (Feb 1, 2013 | post #25)

Windstream "speed"???

There has been comment about Windstream and it's 3MB download speed on another forum. I've noticed here in the Cleveland area the slow down between 6 and 11 PM. The download speed as checked by several "speed test" sites is between 60kbs to 1.5mbs. Way below what is being paid for in the area. Has anyone else noted this?  (Jan 30, 2013 | post #1)

I believe the state public service commission handles these matters. Perhaps we should call them when they are open during the day Enough calls will gain some notoriety and we may not be the only ones experiencing this.  (Jan 30, 2013 | post #7)

Why the Area Tool was Disconnected from the Board of Ass...

T'would seem to me, that many years prior to this, there was this little uprising that had something to do with taxation without representation. Now, being an observer to these proceedings, I find it somewhat amazing that even though this has been (apparently?) going on for some time, it's been allowed to continue. Obviously, the benefits gained are mostly within the "clique" that rules at the moment. Being a bonified gov't entity does not entitle one to profit. Rather, a "reasonable " compensation for time spent doing a service to the community and it's citizens would be expected rather than demanded.  (Jul 27, 2012 | post #34)

Sales tax will help Georgia's economy

Well, let's look at the recent taxes applied and government money applied. 1. Toll on 400 has not stopped as promised 2. Eliminating a free HOV land and adding a HOT lane (which essentially, is a tax) Didn't do anything but add to the coffers of government to utilize where they pleased (MARTA?). Now, we have Obama's "tax" on healthcare that wasn't a tax Oh my. You are right, the only beneficiaries of this tax will be the mighty roads of Atlanta and the immediate surrounding counties. We will pay it in the North and the Northeast, but our benefits are to be limited to a few "road" improvements. Rather we create our own TSPLOST in the local counties to do our own road improvements.  (Jul 4, 2012 | post #3)

Who do you support for U.S. Senate in Georgia in 2010?

Regardless of Republican or Democrat, Independant or Libertarian, this country needs to be taken back from the politicians in Washington. It appears to be obvious that the people of this country were not happy with the "CURRENT " administrations methodology in solving our problems. Even now, President Obama is turning around in his thoughts about how we can accomplish this without taking the rug out from our seniors or the children of the future. Conservatives have spoken in this past election and now we run the gamut of 2012.  (Dec 14, 2010 | post #458)
