guy hit on Old Rt. 66 Monday morning

That post AD was totally in bad taste and wrong even if he did that. Don't know the man, but when you are telling people to move on that post isn't going to do that at all. In fact it will do the opposite. Also I think it's sad and not in a tearful way that people are putting little kids on here where they wouldn't have known about this place to defend the guy. Keep them out of this. In fact it's kind of bad when people are being told to move on from the arguing, but get bashed when they try to remember good about their friend. Hypocritical? I think so. I don't know either men, but I'd think it's safe to say that if they driver was drinking he would have been arrested. Isn't he underage, and they even arrest celebrities for that now so no one is above it if they aren't. What really doesn't say much and does give the idea that he was a drunk that his friends I was told were leaving alcohol at his memorial. Just because he is classified a drunk though doesn't make him a deadbeat. I know someone that buys a 12 pack or more usually every night that is an alcoholic, but I wouldn't classify him as a deadbeat. I personally don't drink so I'm not defending drinking. Hipp about Michael Jackson. Nothing has ever proven he was guilty and in fact the evidence really doesn't show anything. Two cases out of thousands possibly millions of kids that have been through Neverland. In fact the last case against him the family couldn't even get their stories straight, and in fact an a documentary they praised Michael Jackson and even said he slept on the floor with I think the kid's sister saying even she slept in Michael's bed. Story has it that he was supporting their family and decided he couldn't anymore so that is when they decided to sue him. This same mom tried suing a store claiming I think sexual harassment. So why did he settle the first case against him people might ask? Because most businesses do. The store the mom sued was innocent, but they settled anyways to make it go away. Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers is being sued civilly for rape and if he was guilty why is she not taking it to criminal court? Because it's all about money. You can't trust the media for news on Michael Jackson. They are the same ones who said he bleached his skin when there was in fact proof he had Vitiligo which is a rare skin pigment disease when he said he had it. There are pictures on the net that have been posted since 2007 proving this. In fact you can see him wearing body makeup trying to cover it. Michael truly suffered from Peter Pan syndrome. He had no childhood and he reflected that. Can any of you imagine being beat with a tree branch because you only spun around 1 and a half times instead of 2? That's Michael's childhood in a nutshell. Michael had bad people around him that took advantage of him. In fact it's now out that his last night he was actually crying for his dad to fix this 50 concert thing because he was the only person left he could trust. No one called his dad like he was told they did. This man obviously wasn't physically capable of doing the concerts, but somehow passed a promoter's physical evaluation? It was all a scam and more proof of him being taken advantage of. Now BLT as for the bible verses if there are any that need read it's the ones that say women aren't allowed to speak in church, and if they have any questions they are to ask their spouse in the privacy of their own home. Or the one where the bible says praying in public is bad because it is like showing off, and should be done in privacy. Or the one that says it's okay to sell children into slavery. Or finally the one that says "God" killed every first born Egyptian child because the Pharoah wouldn't let slaves go. Yeah those kids really fought side by side with the Pharoah so take it out on them. Any of you still Pro Life after that Bible Verse? Personally against abortion, but Pro Choice for the record to avoid confusion.  (Aug 10, 2009 | post #108)

Actually the FD has given a reason to the hospital on why they won't do transfers. I've posted two threads about it, but they don't get posted for whatever reason. Now whether it's true or not the reason they gave is budget reasons for not doing transfers. So they have actually given a reason. I asked my mom who works there and has no idea about all this tension towards the FD and doesn't go digging about things, and yet she had the answer. What I do find funny is all this talk of how badly the FD treats people. Last I checked Robin commented when the ambulance had to go to her house she got great service for her mother, and only had problems with one person who had personal issues with her. Great attention and care though inside the city limits. Back on February 13th at my ex girlfriend's mom's house where she resides with my daughter when she isn't with me they had a bad carbon monoxide leak that if they didn't have a detector would have killed my ex who I still love, my daughter, and my ex's mother. They called me immediately from outside after calling 911. When I got there all I saw was Litchfield EMTs being very attentive and helpful. In fact my ex's mom had just got done cooking a pizza they were going to eat for supper, and my ex asked one of the EMTs if he could actually get the pizza off the counter for her. Without missing a beat when the house wasn't totally clear he went in and got the pizza returning with a smile. Service with a smile isn't something you see anymore at fast food restaurants, but sure got it from the EMT. A few months ago one of my best friends moved into a rental house with his pregnant wife and daughter. We were hammering posts in the ground to put up a dog fence by the garage when we got snagged up. So we used a little extra force to get it down further. Coincidentally at that moment I got a big smell of gas that made my sinuses feel like hell. I immediately went in the house to ask his mother in law if she could come out to see if she smelled gas, and she did. So I immediately called 911, and asked them if they could send someone to check it out because there was a child involved. In a matter of moments there was a pickup with 3 volunteers, two fire trucks, an ambulance, and a police officer on Jefferson past Russell School. None of them acted like it was a big inconvenience to them at all and this was around 7 or 8. They were fully professional, and actually seemed glad we called. They checked where we were working, and spotted a gas meter across in the neighbor's yard. So they checked it out and said it was probably just them having a surge. They were kind and courteous and didn't treat us like idiots. Once again great service in city limits.  (Aug 8, 2009 | post #127)

Firstly I don't actually care where you hold your meetings. I just find it funny that a group all about Litchfield holds an event on the outskirts of Carlinville. It was more an observational comment because I know the fire chief and mayor get ripped on for buying merchandise out of town instead of from local business and supporting Litchfield. Yet the fact you held a Litchfield meeting out of Litchfield will go ignored. Secondly I don't know what you stand for to begin with to get myself concerned with LCAC. Nor am I concerned with how things are ran in Litchfield. I'm more concerned at the federal level first. FInally when I have money to donate I like to donate to a more worthy cause like the Food Pantry, Coats For Kids, Childrens' Miracle Network, or any random money collecting can for someone with cancer. You're right though I didn't vote in this joke of an election this last year. I voted in 04 for a 3rd party presidential candidate who stood for what I thought. Independent Liberal for the record. I hate both political parties because they are what is wrong with this country. They are more concerned with benefitting their party instead of America first. Perfect example is John McCain. He was an elderly man who was so desperate to get accepted by his party to get the Presidential nomination he sold his soul when he was respected by a majority of people. That's why he chose Sarah Palin. If he would have been the same man who rode the Straight Talk Express he might be president today. Same man used the Lipstick on an Animal cliche against a woman and then attacked Obama for it when it was clear what Obama was saying. Another perfect example was the city people who were putting up ads saying "Vote Republican". How about you tell me your stance instead of your party. Like I said though it doesn't concern me at all where you held your meeting. It was more an observation directed at those who attack city officials, and just funny because like I said you're called Litchfield... It's like KFC holding a party for employees at Popeye's.  (Aug 4, 2009 | post #7)

Wow if we have a group that is supposed to be about Litchfield Community and can't even hold their event in Litchfield to benefit local business how can we expect people with power to buy locally to support local business?  (Aug 4, 2009 | post #4)

Club TNT fomerly Boomers closes down

They could have pretty big crowds at time for the few times I ever went. When and why did the Outhouse close? That building is cursed too. No restaurant could ever last there for a long time. Last restaurant there was The Family Restaurant and I think only lasted a month or so. Went to Humberto's when I was 16 with a friend of mine who was almost 15 or 15 at the time, and we both ordered Virgin Strawberry Daiquiris. There was this cute waitress who seemed kind of flirty towards me, and she ended up ordering us alcoholic Daiquiris. It took a while for them to come out, and when the bartender brought them out he asked who they went to and she pointed to us. He looked dead on at us, and started to walk away. He turned back around then and finally brought it to us. He turned back after he set them down with his hands out like he was having second thoughts and was going to take them away and finally just said he would get us straws. First drink I knew it tasted a little funny so I was suspicious especially with his body language. When I got home I told my mom and older sister about it, and my sister asked me if it tasted bitter. I told her it did and then I was told it did have alcohol in it. I've had Virgin Daiquiris before and I knew it didn't taste right. I guess she just thought she was doing us a favor.  (Jul 1, 2009 | post #23)

guy hit on Old Rt. 66 Monday morning

He was on private property so they couldn't ticket him or arrest him. They were all trespassing, but it wasn't known at the time, and probably isn't known by the cops now. They only could go as far as their limits, or the cops could have been in trouble. Public service isn't something practiced much anymore which is why cops in town can't help people back into their cars because they can't be doing that in case something is going on elsewhere. A group of people were all partying near Lake Kaho.  (Jul 1, 2009 | post #14)

Club TNT fomerly Boomers closes down

I heard he still owns it and was charging around $2,000 a month. Rumor is they might try to get to a different place, and if that's the case I suggest the old Outpost building.  (Jul 1, 2009 | post #21)

Club TNT fomerly Boomers closes down

I remember hearing about someone getting stabbed at Chapp's last year. TNT had one of their bartenders stealing from them and I witnessed it with my own eyes. She was known about too by other customers and one of the bouncers I know. I went there on St. Patty's Day and ordered a Shirley Temple and one of the bartenders pocketed my money. She tried pocketing my friend's change when he ordered a beer and gave her a $20. It's not the first time she tried pocketing his money.  (Jun 30, 2009 | post #17)

Club TNT fomerly Boomers closes down

Rumor has it from one of their bouncers it was because they were paying out too much money to performers and not making it back.  (Jun 29, 2009 | post #6)

Club TNT fomerly Boomers closes down

"That's right folks, Due to reasons "beyond our control"; TODAY IS OUR LAST DAY IN BUSINESS!!!!! We will open at 5pm today, and the band MIDLIFE CRISIS will be playing live from 9pm-1am with NO COVER CHARGE. So come out to help us close the doors, and once again a HUGE thank-you to Fireman Mike for taking care of our myspace page, and to all of our patrons and friends who have supported us over the past years. Sincerely, Tara and Tony" I swear the building seems cursed, and in the minds of any business person that place needs to be demolished in their minds. It's a great place inside, and has a nice feel to it on the outside. Why is it that this place never stays open? I don't drink so I don't do the whole bar thing so I haven't been to other places except for Shaw's(10:55, New Year's 2008, Best Friend's reception), but judging on outside appearance and talk how does a place like Chapp's stay open when TNT/Boomer's can't last? Never tried any of their food there, and now I regret never trying one of their baked potatoes.  (Jun 28, 2009 | post #1)

Didn't Mt. Olive have to borrow money from a business to fix a road or something? If so I'd say they are hard up.  (Jun 27, 2009 | post #4)

So I take it you have something against an ambulance being at Litchfield high school football games in case of an emergency? I remember all the times the ambulance was parked there and never actually got used.  (Jun 27, 2009 | post #2)

The Hut is coming back to Litchfield?

Okay not really, but Yum Brands has decided to rename Pizza Hut "The Hut". So for those who actually went in there who had memory skills at the time discuss the old Hut. I just remember the building/location/ closing, but don't remember being in there. http://articles.mo neycentral.msn.com /Investing/Extra/p izza-hut-changes-i ts-name.aspx?GT1=3 3009  (Jun 19, 2009 | post #1)

How long have we had a health food store in town?

I just noticed it today as I was going south on State Street. I think it's that building that is painted yellow around Coffman's I think or Coffee Klatch. How long have we had the store, and anyone know what all they sell there? Who owns it?  (Apr 11, 2009 | post #1)
