This is the year for Ronnie Brown to show he's more than ...

Dave - the NFL does not send 'average' backs to the Pro Bowl. Maybe you want to rephrase your criticism a little bit?  (Jun 15, 2009 | post #47)

I'm with you - the Pat White pick was a masterful stroke by the Trifecta. Now what do you do as an opposing defense? Who do you watch? We all saw what happens when you add the passing game to the Wildcat - it creates mis-matches all over the field... Now with White in the mix, how do you prepare for it? I LOVE it!  (Apr 29, 2009 | post #64)

Thanks for saving me the time - I was just about to go hunting for all of Miami's FA signings since the draft. And I agree with you on OMartin.  (Apr 28, 2009 | post #46)

So because New England didn't use one of their two picks before Miami, that means they really didn't want to pick him? Really? And what proof do you have of that? What is it with these fans down here anyway? You have an article written by someone who spends their working hours covering the sport talking to people IN the sport, and instead, you choose to believe the opposite. Brilliant.  (Apr 28, 2009 | post #45)

Two things are obvious: one - you didn't read the article. White was going to be drafted in the second round, period. Secondly, Miami didn't run the Wildcat because of a 'lack of talent'. Do you think it is just the formation that makes it successful, or do you actually have to have some players that have talent in order to execute the plays?  (Apr 28, 2009 | post #44)

How can adding more offensive talent be a 'step back'? I love the pick! I have no problem with keeping everyone guessing about how he can be used! Just as the Wildcat confounded some defenses at times, bringing in such a versatile and talented player will do the same. And if it all equates to a more explosive offense and more W's, then so be it!  (Apr 25, 2009 | post #6)

Miami Dolphins draft Illinois cornerback Vontae Davis

Sorry that you aren't 'buying' simple facts, but yes, Miami was 8th in the league for most sacks. Just look it up, the stats are available on NFL.com. Which is probably another reason the Trifecta is drafting for Miami, and not you. Secondly, Davis didn't 'drop' anywhere - several mock drafts had Miami drafting Davis right where they picked him. Scouts Inc projected last December that Davis was likely a mid to late first round pick. Again, the facts don't seem to be on your side.  (Apr 25, 2009 | post #131)

Thanks, you just proved a huge point: Miami did not select an OLB in the first round for a reason - the NEED a CB! Case closed.  (Apr 25, 2009 | post #128)

Back-up QB Brantley stars in Florida's spring game

Back-up QB Brantley stars in Florida's spring game

Good point... in 1983, Miami's 'toughest' games that year were against Florida (a loss), a 6-5 Notre Dame team, and an 8-3 West Virginia team. The rest of the schedule is littered with teams like Duke, Louisville, East Carolina, Cincinnati, etc. They then beat FSU by one point and then get a home bowl game against a team from the midwest.  (Apr 20, 2009 | post #116)

FSU will be better than last year, you can count on that. And they did finish in the top 25. Don't write off UGA just because of the Stafford/Moreno loss. They may lose 2-3 games before UF plays them, but they'll still be ranked in mid-November. Don't count out Tennessee either. Frankly, they couldn't get much worse than last year and I think just on the emotion alone, Kiffin will have them in the Top 25 at some point, if not in the preseason Top 25. Again, this will be a typical SEC year, even considering that some traditional teams - Auburn and Tennessee - had 'off' years.  (Apr 20, 2009 | post #113)
