Manchester, Did you receive the mass email from beijingticketing.c om stating that tickets would not be delivered because its "supplier " had failed them? Surely this would persuade your credit card company that the tickets are not going to arrive, ever? Best of luck to you. (Aug 6, 2008 | post #410)
I can recommend as a reliable source for tickets the group www.westendsports. com Mario at that company has been very helpful, attentive and reliable. He will be in Beijing. Please note that the link on the homepage does not work, but if you type "Olympics " into the search box the right content will come up. Best of luck to everyone. (Aug 5, 2008 | post #366)
I agree that it is important to compile a comprehensive list of those who have been wronged and the amounts involved. Still, I feel uncomfortable posting information that will allow the people at beijingticketing.c om to identify me. Perhaps the USOC legal counsel could advise us whether there is in place a more private process for gathering this information from all victims, whether US-based or not? I understand that a private attorney has set up a website, but not everyone will want or be able to participate in that. (Aug 4, 2008 | post #320)
The Attorney General for the state of Oregon seems to have taken a lead in publicizing our common plight. http://www.bizjour nals.com/portland/ stories/2008/07/28 /daily35.html?q=ol ympics%20tickets Attorneys General do usually have vigorous consumer protection bureaus, so this may be another useful avenue for us, depending on our locales. I do continue to wonder about one thing: did they never intend to provide any of us with tickets, or did things spiral out of control for them? So chilling to think the former! I did contact this person via email. He wrote back very promptly, said he was involved only in IT aspects of the company and had no knowledge about other dealings. (Jul 30, 2008 | post #214)
Here is the FBI internet fraud website, which allows for filing of a complaint on line (I think it was posted earlier but I'll repeat it for sake of ease): http://www.ic3.gov /complaint/default .aspx I have filed a complaint. (Jul 30, 2008 | post #206)
