At new restaurants, East will meet West

And one more thing. I will GLADLY pay $100 for a meal from a locally owned restaurant that serves freshly prepared food and "Real" mixed drinks. I find it fascinating that most people are ignorant of the fact that 90% of the food served in chain restaurants is frozen/pre-package d/brought in. You are basically paying for an overpriced TV dinner. I also prefer to eat in an "Adult" atmosphere, rather than one with screaming children and watered down well drinks. It's all a matter of priorities I suppose, I could spend my money on manicures each week, or the latest fashions, but I prefer to save up and enjoy a really good meal every once in a while.  (May 6, 2008 | post #36)

One key point that everyone seems to be missing, is that places such as this don't always cater to just the upscale crowd, but they also serve as a place to take business clients for lunch/dinner. Applebee's and Bennigan's just doesn't cut the mustard.  (May 6, 2008 | post #35)

More made in China crap to fuel their economy instead of ours. It drives me crazy that people think they are getting a "good deal" from places like this. Crap you don't need, stuff that breaks in 5 minutes. Yea, that's a good deal. People's values get all screwed up when they buy this crap. Oh, and look at all that sugar in the photo. That's a good think to encourage our families to eat, right?  (May 6, 2008 | post #2)

So sad that you chose to abandon them during their tough times. Are you also a football fan that has jumped on and off the wagons of the various teams (Dallas, Miami) once they started to deteriorate? A true fan stays loyal no matter what  (Apr 8, 2008 | post #9)

So many prominent rock and roll bands have created scores of music through their addictions. Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix to name but a few. While I'm not condoning this behavior, musicians often get caught up in substance abuse because they wish to continue the momentary high of performing. STP is no exception, and I congratulate Weiland for continuing to move through his rehabilitation. STP's first three albums are some of the most important rock albums released in the early to mid 90's, and I am very happy that they will be returning to the stage together. I too saw them at Stabler in the 90's and it was one of the tightest performances I've ever seen by a rock band. I guarantee that this show will NOT have any tickets left over to "give away."  (Apr 8, 2008 | post #8)

Dennis, different stokes for different folks. Some people prefer sweet, and some people prefer dry, etc. I personally prefer to spend my money locally, and I am very happy with the selections available from Clover Hill, Franklin Hill, Cherry Valley, and further south, New Hope Wineries.  (Apr 7, 2008 | post #4)

Upper Saucon woman to appear on 'Rachael Ray'

It's not about being jealous, it's about a woman who hosts a "30 minute meal" show showing off a family with an 850 sq ft kitchen. Seems contradictory. Like the Gotshalls are going to prepare 5 minute meatballs in that kitchen. BTW - my half a double 3 story house has a total of 750 square feet of living space.  (Feb 25, 2008 | post #24)
