I like the desk exercises. Sitting in a desk chair all day can make you crazy. (Feb 25, 2008 | post #5)
You lost 8lbs in 1 month. What happened after that? Was diet and exercise a part of this weight loss? Is DFINE8 approved by FDA? Do I have to continue to take it forever to "Keep it Off"? (Feb 25, 2008 | post #2)
B-12 and Lipotropic Injections for Weight Loss
If B12 is used in COMBINATION with a healthy diet and exercise- GREAT. Unfortunately, I think people are looking for B12 to be a fast EASY track to weight loss (instead of diet and exercise). (Feb 25, 2008 | post #1921)
B-12 and Lipotropic Injections for Weight Loss
Fad" refers to something that IS NOT sustainable. I don't consider injections for weiht loss sustainable for life OR a very good example for young girls. (Feb 24, 2008 | post #1913)
Everyone knows vitamin C fights colds and boosts your immune system, which is great, but it can also add years to your life! Here’s my favorite reasons to Do Vitamin C: 1. MUSCLE RECOVERY: Vitamin C plays a major role in muscle recovery, by helping your body produce collagen, a major structural protein found in connective tissue that holds muscles, bones and other tissues together. Take a 1000 mg tablet before and after your workout. 2. ANTI-INFLAMMATORY: Vitamin C is an anti-inflammatory, helping the body fight inflammatory diseases, including arthritis, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue. Skip prescription drugs whenever possible. 3. ANTIOXIDANT: Vitamin C is the most famous antioxidant for a good reason. Antioxidants reduce the damage to the body caused by toxic chemicals and pollutants like automobile exhaust, cigarette smoke, and even charcoal grilled meat. They also slow down the wrinkles we dread all our lives. Since your body doesn’t create vitamin C on its own and it doesn’t it store it, it’s important to include plenty of vitamin C in your daily diet. In addition to a vitamin C supplement, eat foods rich in the vitamin (citrus fruits and dark green leafy vegetables). (Feb 23, 2008 | post #1)
B-12 and Lipotropic Injections for Weight Loss
Fad diets are not sustainable (B12 injections). Eat healthy and exercise for life. Let's teach our children good habits by example. (Feb 23, 2008 | post #1908)
Competition to stand out pushes Gladiator competitors hard
We need all the help we can get erasing the images of emaciated Hollywood stars young girls see on the cover of magazines in the grocery store. The importance of healthy eating and exercise needs to be emphasized MORE. This article was a great start. __________________ __________________ _____ "Waugaman constantly preaches the gospel of physical fitness and healthy habits. She hopes her appearances on American Gladiators will be a springboard to a larger role promoting her ideas, especially to young people." (Feb 23, 2008 | post #3)
If you plan on taking your training seriously, you need to take a good look at the nutrition factors before (pre), during (peri), and after (post) you train. The body is fueled by "sugar". Muscle is repaired with "protein ". Immune system and connecting tissue dexterity is enhanced with vitamin C. So, a good workout nutrition will have a good deal of sugar (depending on the length and volume/intensity of a workout). Next a small amount of protein to get the jump on protein synthesis (more than 20g is just a waste). Also, vitamin C to help your total recovery and enhance body systems (about 1g before and after workouts). There are other things to throw into the drink, such as caffeine, l-tyrosine, l-glutamine, b12, creatine, etc. Add whatever you wish, just make sure the primary components still remain for a good pre/peri/post workout meal. Gymnast, Soccer Player, Swimmer, Tennis Player, Football Player
There are A LOT of athletes living amoung us in Westchase. Athletes need to be kept healthy and ready for competition. All athletes need to develop different levels of strength and power. Not all athletes should be trained the same nor should training in anyway hinder their development. Trainers of “The Fitness Road” know there are distinct strength qualities that must be progressed in athletes of different sports. A soccer player and a football running back will need to gain absolute strength qualities as well as a mid range endurance level, while a high jumper and gymnast need more relative strength qualities. As young athletes, a strength and conditioning program should not only develop the different strength qualities, but also aid in lowering chances of injuries. Contact us for effective training strategies for competitive and non-competitive athletes. www.thefitnessroad .com (Feb 9, 2008 | post #1)
Neighbor Wants Charges After Woman's False Report
I love being able to smile to all my neighbors as I walk the dog. I'm happy, but not surprised, this was a false report. (Feb 8, 2008 | post #5)
Westchase Elementary goes green
I think going green is a great idea as an education element for kids to value their environment. I just caught a teenager throwing sample packets out the window of a parked car at the Westchase Publix. I asked him to pick up the packets and walked him to the trash can. I told him to remember that this is his neighborhood too. The going green effort can only help. (Feb 8, 2008 | post #2)
