I have skin lesions and bumps around my mouth.........

Okay, that just sounds very lame and very much like a paid commercial advertisement when this person is trying to ask for help. If doctors who think it's Herpes, treat it like Herpes, but it doesn't go away or act like Herpes,... then guess what?! It's probably not Herpes! I'm surprised the dermatologist made you take a medication when the doctor who referred you had already put you on a regiment for Herpes meds. Don't they talk to each other? Didn't you tell them? If it doesn't hurt, I'd lay my money on it being some sort of dermatitis. Just in case that's the problem, and I'd be really careful about unnecessary chemicals in your diet, your shower, your hygiene products, etc. Lay off the really hot water when you bathe, and ask your dermatologist about more ways you can reduce the chemicals you bombard your body with on a daily basis. (Think soaps, shampoos, deodorants, colognes, food preservatives, colas, etc.) Hope it clears up for you, and don't give up on finding out what it is. Stay on top of it so you can get cured.  (Jul 17, 2007 | post #3)
