Talk about a rigged poll. I won't count my vote for Steve Brooks. It pops up "Invalid Location" and only lets the comments through.  (Oct 27, 2010 | post #8)

Law out of control

The officer, by your own admission, saw you about to commit a crime (Trespass) and he stopped you from committing that crime in his sight. He saved you the cost of a citation, and you flame him and say that your crime was a lesser of the evils out there. Crime is crime, no matter what the severity. Did you look at the link I posted? The railroad can prosecute the charge of trespass at the district court and not municipal if they so wish and that would be even a bigger fine. Not suited for law enforcement? Why is that, because I believe all laws should be enforced equally, or because I don't think like you? The fact of you being in danger or not is not the issue. The issue is that you don't believe the trespass laws apply to you. This WAS proper law enforcement, he warned you that you were about to commit a crime and let you have the option of taking a different route, rather than sit there and wait for the crime of trespass to be committed so he could cite, or even arrest you for it. You might consider going on a ride along on the Friday or Saturday evening, it will really open your eyes to what police officers do in Pauls Valley. By the way, I post as a member of "Citizens For Rail Security" here, not in my capacity in law enforcement.  (Apr 4, 2010 | post #6)

You might want to stop bashing law enforcement and thank them for keeping your rear-end alive. It takes a train going 45moh almost 1 1/4 miles to stop. you might want to check out this link http://www.citizen sforrailsecurity.c om/ you could have been arrested and jailed for tresspassing. The railroad has agreements with all police/sheriff's departments to watch railroad land and track. How dare you put the officer in a bad light, budgets have been cut, officers have not been replaced. The officer didn't "FORCE" an old man to walk out of his way, he "SAVED" that old mans life. By the way, if you obey the laws then you'll have no worries about Officers when you see them. People like you sicken me on a daily basis. Yes I am in the law enforcement field, but not in Pauls Valley, and yes we have railroad crossings in the area where I work.  (Apr 3, 2010 | post #4)

Teacher's unsolved death

I have read all 205 posts that are remaining and have had the opportunity to read some of the posts that were removed as well. I have come to a couple of conclusions about this forum as well as a few other forums that I post on. 1) Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one and they usually stink. 2) People post without giving too much thought as to what their words will do to the Horton/Kile families. 3) Certain Law "Enforcement " Officers like to bully people around. We need to remember that the families have the right to have the case heard in a neutral county. They have the right to keep pushing the issues with powers at a higher level than Wynnewood Municipal Court or Garvin County Court. They can appeal the Grand Jury decision to a state or federal supreme court if they want to lay out the money to do so. I have not seen, even once, any of the family members bash any specific officer in this forum. I have spoken to one of them on the phone and he has no malice toward any officer, just against the way things were processed at the scene. They will probably continue this fight to be heard, and I wish them well. The rest of us need to get off their backs and let them do what they need to do. If you disagree with them, fine, but stop bashing the family and close friends in an open forum. This will be my last post on the matter and I will not be reading replies. I only hope the rest of you will do the same and let the Horton family have a little dignity back.  (Apr 3, 2010 | post #214)

Okla. bombing Nichols' diet somewhat resolved

http://law.jrank.o rg/pages/9386/Pris on-Prisoners-Right s.html The established rights of prison inmates include FREEDOM OF SPEECH and religion; freedom from ARBITRARY punishment (i.e., restraints, solitary confinement) on the sole basis of beliefs, religion, or racial and ethnic origin; freedom from constant physical restraints; a small amount of space for physical movement; essentials for personal hygiene and opportunity to wash; clean bedding; adequate clothing; adequate heating, cooling, ventilation, and light; and adequate nutrition. No where in there does it say they get the choice of what to eat. We all need to write, email, text, tweet, etc the Warden at the supermax prison in Colorado and tell him to have a backbone and tell Nichols to take a flying F%^k at a rolling donut. The ACLU(American CRIMINAL Liberties Union)can kiss our butts when it comes to helping this piece of trash that helped to kill 168 innocent men, women, and children. I have just come home after taking my first trip to the National Memorial & Museum and I have to tell you as a 48 year old man I stood there and openly cried for the loss of all those souls. Terry Nichols, go F--- Yourself and die already  (Mar 15, 2010 | post #78)

McLoud residents "hook up or pay up"

To pay to not use a city service... EXTORTION The use, or the express or implicit threat of the use, of violence or other criminal means to cause harm to person, reputation, or property as a means to obtain property from someone else with his consent. USC 18 The Hobbs Act defines "extortion " as "the obtaining of property from another, with his consent, induced by wrongful use of actual or threatened force, violence, or fear, or under color of official right." 18 U.S.C. S 1951(b)(2). "If local residents don't pay the $17 monthly charge or hook up to the water line, city officials will fine them of $20 per day." Hmm Do what we want or we'll fine you $20 a day almost fits the definition of extortion in my opinion, but then I'm only one voice and not from Mc Cloud.  (Mar 13, 2010 | post #62)

Teacher's unsolved death

I set out to rile up people with my comments and it worked. This needs to be kept in the forefront of peoples minds and if by playing devils advocate **** you off to the point of talking about it, then I did what I intended to do. What needs to happen is a Grand Jury be seated from another county and all the "evidence " be taken to them. An independent investigation needs to be launched from outside Garvin County to look at the charges of cover-up, mis-handling of the case, evidence tampering, as well as an independent autopsy by a private lab. Any and all charges should be filed through the States Attorney's office and not a local Sheriff or DA. I do apologise for my tactics to stir conversation, and I do apologise to the family of Mr Horton for the way I came off. If it were my family I would be doing the same thing as they are.  (Mar 4, 2010 | post #89)
