Health Care - Greensburg, IN

Sorry to say but when people without insurance turn up in the Emergency Room somewhere we all pay through higher costs. And no, we can't just turn them out on the streets to die!  (Jun 24, 2011 | post #5)

Mo Smedley

I think the point he was making had to do with how mean the guy was. He didn't say what happened to him was similiar. They guy was a sadistic bas***d when I knew him and apparently I wasn't alone. Interesting how the "great" coaches and "basketball legends" are so often that way.  (Jun 24, 2011 | post #5)

Who do you support for U.S. Senate in Indiana in 2010?

But my point is that the (R) party only complains about deficits when the (D) party is in power, even if they share the responsibility for the deficit. Yet, they don't tolerate any criticism when their man or woman is in power.  (Jun 15, 2011 | post #877)

Gay Marriage - Wabash, IN

The whole Gay Marriage debate is just a way the Republicans "change the subject" so that they try to win votes while screwing the middle class economically.  (Jun 15, 2011 | post #5)

Indiana's cuts to education

You are absolutely right. Also, with their voting of "vouchers " so that some parents can send their kids to private schools and "charter schools," the the State has instured that schools that are deemed "poor" in performance will lose many of their students who can get in to these other schools (that don't have to take anybody they don't want)and will be left with the students who need more help but will get less State money. It is just a scam for the State to find an excuse to give more money to schools where the rich people send their kids and they can claim "public schools" in general are "failing " just like the Republicans have been saying for years. The GIP is entirely under the influence of big money, those who want to profit by running "for-profit " schools and the religious extremists who won't send their kids to public schools anyway because they think they are "evil!" Come the next election......don' t forget which party did this to us!  (Jun 15, 2011 | post #2)

Ryan Medicare Plan - Marion, IN

Congressman Ryan will go into the history books as the fool to began the huge electoral defeat of the Republican Party. By proposing the destruction of Medicare and the privitization of Social Security while insisting on yet further tax cuts for the rich and big corporations.....Rep. Ryan will be known as the man who set the tone for the issues of the 2012 election. The result of that election will be a larger defeat than the Republicans suffered with Barry Goldwater in 1964. It will take them 2 or 3 decades to fully recover.  (Jun 15, 2011 | post #1)

Planned Parenthood, abortion and the budget fight

That's baloney. Everyone quotes these stories about people in Cadillacs spending foodstamps on Skol or whatever and no one ever has actually seen it. It is like Bigfoot. Everyone knows someone who knows someone who saw it....but no one has actually seen it with their own eyes. It is just mean-spirited hate directed at the poor.  (Jun 15, 2011 | post #1301)

You are just being mean-spirited. There was not one word said about "deficits " by the Republicans when Bush was running up the bills and anyone who said anything was called "Un-American " for daring to speak out during "a time of war." Republicans need to confess that they don't care how much we spend as long as it is for "defense " and the military but give some poor soul who is starving $10 worth of food stamps and all you "conservative s" start howling about "waste and abuse!" You don't care if people starve, die from lack of healthcare or live on the streets as long as you don't have to pay a dime for anything but "military glory!" The worst part....you will do it all in the name of your phony "Christianity !" I guess the Sermon on the Mount was mis-translated.... Jesus must have really said "blessed are the warmakers" and "blessed are the rich!"  (Jun 15, 2011 | post #875)

You know what? You can disagree and you might even be right but it is not an issue of "morality " it is just politics. You can be for or against anything you want but it is not "good vs evil" or "moral vs immoral" it is just two different political choices. I am really sick of those who claim that "their side" is "moral" and the "other side" is not! SHEESH!  (Jun 10, 2011 | post #865)
