Progressive Liberal Logic.

I don't know any Progressives who want to "change this country into a pagan, secular, hedonistic, debauchery filled cesspool of sin and greed and illicit sex", but if you're sure they're out there, I will keep looking.  (Jan 3, 2013 | post #13)

Gun Laws - Albuquerque, NM

Sure. Let's give it a try. What could go wrong? I do NOT, however, believe we should issue concealed carry permits for Howitzers. But I'm open to debate on the subject, as usual.  (Jan 3, 2013 | post #580)

What Do You Think Of The "Flat Tax"

A flat tax with deductions isn't flat. A VAT is a flat tax, unless there are some exempt items or services...which there always are. A 90 percent tax rate on incomes over $400,000.00 would solve the deficit overnight. An estate tax of 90 percent on estates over $1,000,000.00 would pay off the national debt faster than any other plan proposed since 1999. And for those of us making less than $400,000 - or inheriting less than a million - life would be fantastic. Not only would we be paying NO INCOME TAXES, we'd also get to benefit from the massive stimulus the balanced budget and more money in our pockets would bring our nation. It worked in the 1950s, and it would work again today. In fact...it has never NOT worked. Only the super wealthy would see their economic quality of life decrease. ¬°Que Lastima!  (Jan 3, 2013 | post #13)

Marijuana - Albuquerque, NM

Well, that just about sums it up. You're convinced that people who you think smoke pot don't agree with your political ideas, so we must continue to persecute them. Maybe you'll be singing a different hymn when we watch Colorado's economy grow while New Mexico's does it's best imitation of the Dust Bowl.  (Jan 3, 2013 | post #534)

A look at how the new fiscal plan affects people

That worked so well in the 1930s before the daggum government stuck its big nose in. 75 percent of Americans who wanted jobs had them. Why oh why didn't we just leave well enough alone? That must also be why black men always seem to have the highest unemployment. Before 1861, black unemployment was ZERO!  (Jan 3, 2013 | post #7)

Let's have fun with lack of perfection! Here, you help logic stand on its head while I prove that there's an exception to prove every rule! We're just so silly making murder illegal and stuff. LIke....get this....like it's going to stop people from getting killed! God, that's just the funniest thing I ever heard! Why, I got a parking ticket the other day! What are they going to do....shoot me? Nuke my house? Laws are man's way of making God AND Satan laugh in unison!  (Jan 3, 2013 | post #575)

Anyone who thinks marijuana should be illegal doesn't need to be high. They're just naturally out of touch with reality.  (Jan 3, 2013 | post #532)

Well, let's see. How do we feel about Jefferson Davis? George W. Bush? Hirohito? Charles Lindbergh? Each of those men either stood by and failed to prevent disaster, supported the wrong man, or actively participated in a war of aggression wasting his own country's lives. Stupid blunders are not exclusive to non-Americans, after all. If not for Stalin, Hitler almost certainly would have taken Russia. Hitler was nuts and his blunders weren't minor....they were amongst the worst in the history of warfare. If not for Stalin, hundreds of thousands more Americans would have died fighting Germany. And Stalin stood ready to honor his commitment to us to help defeat Japan, except that poor bastard Truman - in over his head from the very beginning and little more than a tool of the anti-civil-rights, anti-union wing of the Democratic Party - decided to blindside our mightiest ally with a superweapon, planting the seeds of distrust that cost us tens of trillions of dollars over the next 50 years. Sure, Uncle Joe was a monster. But he was a very effective monster and we were lucky to have him on our side. Who knows what kind of monstrosities we would have perpetrated if we'd had Hitler marching across the midwest, killing 20 million of our innocent civilians? The Soviet Union was lucky to have him, too. Joe Steel would shoot you in the back for retreating, but at least he wouldn't burn your family alive just for being non-Aryan. Our anti-Soviet policies made that magic 1 percent of Americans very wealthy at the expense of the other 99 percent of us. And it goes on today, while we spend as much on defense as the 14 next largest countries COMBINED, even though our only real enemies use handguns and IEDs against us. Just because they don't believe in God doesn't make them bad. Just because they don't believe in unfettered capitalism doesn't make them bad. The paranoid Protestants and the avaricious among us got what they wanted, and we'll be paying the price for another century, assuming we make it that long without declaring bankruptcy.  (Jan 1, 2013 | post #20)
