Does the Lord hear a sinner's prayer?

So John 3:16 really doesn't mean cosmos then? Interesting, I thought I was the one who was against scripture! Someone who has the Title of Christ, died for my sins. He is my master and I am his slave. He came in the flesh, shed his blood on a cross as the final atonement for sin and has risen to sit at the right hand of the Father where he waits for the day he will call us to meet him in the air.  (May 4, 2010 | post #1214)

To the Jew I am a Jew, to the Gentiles I am a Gentile, I call myself Christian since that is who paid for my sins.  (Apr 22, 2010 | post #803)

Hmmm so this is how the persons walking in the perfect pattern act towards others? I really thought there were fruits of the spirit that would be seen in those called of Christ. Patience, kindness, etc. Or all those words not really in the Bible? And if they be in there, were exactly do you exorcise those fruits? Are all those who disagree with your view of scripture unsaved? Or are disagreements allowed?  (Apr 22, 2010 | post #802)

Oh don't forget that Jesus statement about righteous Judgment does not obsolve any of us from being judged at the same level we are judging. Judge someone to be unsaved and going to hell because you did not hold to the pattern, if you are wrong in even the slightest in holding that pattern, your fate will be the same. This applies to all of us, even those who think they are walking in perfect obedience like the publican did when he was praying!  (Apr 21, 2010 | post #769)

Unfortunately the greek bible I go to has the commas in it LOL! Imagine that! So for the record if I have something wrong I don't believe I was lied to, people make mistakes, it's why we needed Jesus to come in the flesh and die for us!  (Apr 21, 2010 | post #768)

As for commas here is Luke 23:43 from Codex Sinaiticus: http://codexsinait icus.org/en/manusc ript.aspx?book=35 &chapter=23 &lid=en&si de=r&verse=43 &zoomSlider=0 You will find no comma's at least none that I see, but I am no expect in the greek. So the comma placement could be wrong!  (Apr 19, 2010 | post #621)

Obeying The Gospel

Hey I believe you should be baptized, but I also believe that telling someone on their deathbed that they are going to hell even though they are repentant is wrong, that God is merciful to those who are humble and repentant just like the Thief on the Cross was saved. Secondly to raise water to a level where Jesus has no power to save without it, is out of balance, it ignores the truths about the Thief and also Cornelius who was in right standing before Peter arrived, Acts 10 was to make the gentiles right with the Jews, not God! Abraham was justified through his faith! Cornelius was justified through his faith, his prayers were a memorial to God, and I do not believe that had he died before Peter arrived that he would have been condemned to hell for simply not being baptized. People who worship baptism run to Mark 16:16, yet later in that same book Jesus is recorded as delivering a prophet word to the Apostles about being able to drink poison and live. They never did this, thus to believe in the longer ending of Mark is to believe that Jesus was a false prophet since Deut 18 tells us that if a prophet is speaking for God, that his prophetic words would always come to pass. They did not come to pass! Also Matthew 28:19 is spun by the Church as being fulfilled by Acts 2:38, this is simply wrong. This passage was recorded as being spoken by the Church fathers differently early on without Baptism involved and later was changed to include the Trinity baptism as it is written today. Why? Because the Gnostics believed that God the Father was an evil God, thus this change allowed the Catholic Church to shutdown the gnostic's claim! Thirdly John 3 where people run to claim the water Jesus was speaking of was baptism, when in fact Jesus spilled out water and blood when he was stuck by the spear! Thus we are born again by the water and the blood of Jesus Christ and his Spirit!  (Apr 19, 2010 | post #29)

Know the Truth

Mark 16 the longer version is an addition of man! Deut 18 shows us how to tell truth and who is speaking for God, In Mark there is a prophet statement about being able to drink poison and not be harmed, yet the Apostles never did such a thing. How is it that Jesus can speak a prophetic word and it fail to come true? You have two choices, you can continue to follow the longer ending of Mark but to do so you make Jesus a false Prophet per Deut 18, or you can see the truth of the fact this longer ending was added by man!  (Apr 19, 2010 | post #50)

How to become a Christian

Can you tell me when Abraham was justified per Paul's Teaching, before or after circumcision? Can you tell me when Cornelius was justified before God? In your own words please explain how Cornelius was going to hell while at the same time his prayers were a memorial to God... Please do tell, I'll make some popcorn for the story! And for that matter please tell me where Peter is told about the statement he makes in Acts 11? In Acts 10 there is nothing about salvation spoken of by the Angel. Could it be that Peter did not have the complete picture? He certainly had to be taught by God about Gentiles through a vision!  (Apr 19, 2010 | post #6)

The Pentecostal Holiness Church, Assembly Of God Church, ...

Again show me historical records of the CoC between 250-350AD. Still waiting! 4who for my life risked their own necks, to whom not only do I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles; The churches of the Gentiles are also listed in Romans 16, shall we start a denomination called Churches of the Gentiles also?  (Apr 19, 2010 | post #7)

The Roman Catholic Church "From Heaven Or Of Men?"

Nothing like betting the farm on a greeting that is said one time, while ignoring the Holy Kiss that is commanded with it and the churches of the Gentiles given above that passage.... 4who for my life risked their own necks, to whom not only do I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles; But it's a great trick when you are trying to build a denomination by scaring people out of other denominations!  (Apr 19, 2010 | post #8)

Debate on Baptism

Show me in Acts 10 where the Angel said what Peter claimed was said in Acts 11? It's not in there! And it was never retold to Peter, but it seems Peter assumed it was so. Peter also assumed that Gentiles were unclean until God decided he needed to know otherwise! Acts 11 is not backed up by Acts 10!  (Apr 19, 2010 | post #7)

Obeying The Gospel

I am glad to hear that people are escaping the trap of legalism! It is a trap simply because no one can judge the salvation status of others, salvation comes to those who endure to the end, not to those who took a bath with the right words spoken inside the right building. Only God is the true and righteous judge and we as Paul see only in part and to judge another's salvation is only asking to be judged at that same level by God. Claiming the righteous judgment clause does not give you an escape from the Judge not, and I am amazed that those who pride themselves on their knowledge of scripture would not see that fact!  (Apr 19, 2010 | post #27)

Does the Lord hear a sinner's prayer?

I didn't answer because I usually don't disect 10 pages of cut and paste material, secondly it was going off topic. Sinner's Prayer - all prayer except when Jesus prayed are sinners prayers. The publican was not heard because of pride, the tax collector was heard because of humility. Secondly the publican was judging others, he was thus being judged at the level he was judging, the tax collector on the other hand was judging only himself and thus showing his need for God and forgiveness that he could not do anything to please God through his own works.  (Apr 19, 2010 | post #616)

The church of Christ / Who Are These People?

Faith you already know those answers, if someone dies before baptism they go to hell because baptism is the narrow way and the way, the truth and the life, as nobody comes before the father except they go through baptism. Simply put if you are repentant on your death bed and wanting a preacher, don't call John, because he will answer, so sad, to bad you had your chance already. In effect, like the wicked servant who hid his talents, they are unwilling to risk anything for fear of the Father quashing them like a bug! I'm still waiting on John to explain how jesus can lie to the woman at the well because of her unbelief in Ezra 10 instead of setting her straight about the 5 husbands, four that John would call not her husband if you called his show in the same situation. Or how he can whine about believers going before nonbelievers in talking about his son's trail when the passage he is dancing around also talks about brothers, something he and his cult have clearly said they are not to westover and all others who have the nerve to disagree with the self appointed speakers of truth!  (Apr 19, 2010 | post #320)
