Ill. law bars sex offenders from ice cream trucks

If 'sex offender' actually meant 'going after children' then I could get behind now allowing them to drive ice cream trucks. However, 'sex offender' does not necessarily translate to pedophile, so in that, I cannot get behind this law. Additionally, if the law goes beyond ice-cream trucks, as it appears to, then this is just another way of further marginalizing those with criminal records, thus insuring the chances they'll end up back in jail.  (Aug 5, 2009 | post #11)

I watched the youtube video without Palin, and she didn't make much sense there either. However it wasn't much more than just a bunch of hippie mumbo jumbo in a valley girl sounding accent until she started in about on slavery on the East Coast, and then things started to get weird.  (Jul 28, 2009 | post #14)

17 vehicles torched on West, Northwest Sides

Tom - you're an idiot. I know one of the guys who had his car torched. He's not wealthy at all, he rents his apartment, and that damn car was the most valuable thing he owned. Go troll somewhere else.  (Jun 25, 2009 | post #24)

Trump tower Chicago complaint: Bright lights are a big pain

I'd be happy to take her condo off her hands for 100k. I'll even install drapes. However, I do understand why she is annoyed. I lived for years with a restaurant sign flashing outside my window, and even with drapes, I knew it was there and it got on my nerves.  (Apr 22, 2009 | post #79)

Bubbling under the surface: Fear and loathing on the 'L'

I've been riding the 'el' since 1988 (since I was a teenager), and have had reoccurring dreams (nightmares) of finding myself barefoot on the 'el' since that time. Granted it doesn't stop my from riding it nor do I find riding the 'el' a particularly nerve racking experience (I don't own a car and ride it every day). However, having the same dream on and off for 20 years does probably indicate that I do have a minor, underlying anxiety about the whole affair.  (Oct 28, 2008 | post #38)
