Libya Militias Turn to Politics, a Volatile Mix

There are no problems brewing in china. There was a rumor of a coup going around on twitter that was eventually proven to be untrue. Most of the chinese are pretty happy with their leadership - it's all they know, and the standard of living is slowly but surely on the rise.  (Apr 3, 2012 | post #6)

Clashes erupt in Libyan capital between militia and resid...

Why do you relentlessly respond to Zendra with that shit? Isn't the civil war in your country over? Qaddafi had a lot of legitimate support, domestically and around the world. Granted, pro-NTC fighters have done a good job at jailing and killing anyone who supported him, but people are still entitled to their opinion without you behaving like an angry child. Zendra isn't trolling or doing it for attention, he's stating his legitimate feelings, which should be respected. This isn't fisher price, this is topix, now act like an adult.  (Mar 21, 2012 | post #32)

Libya says Mauritania agrees Senussi extradition

Observer, why your hostility to everyone who voices their opinion? I don't want to suggest that Qaddafi was a good man, or that Senussi was a good man (he definitely was not), but in this case Senussi was doing just that - his job. Now, he can certainly be prosecuted regardless, but Bikram was stating his opinion and there is no reason to attack him for that, or to be a sarcastic prick about it. Keep it civil. The civil war's over.  (Mar 21, 2012 | post #4)

Armed clashes erupt after rally in Libya

Jamahiriya is an amalgamated word that Qaddafi created that essentially means rule of the masses. If you've read the green book, as I have, it's the democratic political system that was outlined within its pages. Was it implemented? Of course not, but parts of it were. However, enough parts were left out or subjected to the brother leader that essentially he and his cronies ran the country. Specifically, his sons.  (Mar 21, 2012 | post #22)

David Cameron's Libyan war: why the PM felt Gaddafi had t...

So much for "no troops on the ground." I see many mentions of "special forces," both by Qatar and France. Just what everyone suspected.  (Oct 2, 2011 | post #1)

Alluvial gold dust (AU) for sale

What the hell? Why is this scam shit in the Libya forum?  (Aug 18, 2011 | post #75)

Are Libya's rebels edging to victory?

I love how all these silly Canadians are the ones spreading hate and anger here. JimBob, George, stop talking and go enjoy your worthless country. But hey, don't fret! You'll both be American citizens by 50 years time, when your place is known as the 51st state. Then you too will find reason to complain about America. Oh, and when that happens, you can go say hi to Obama at the federal prison, awaiting charges on abuse of power, evasion of the constitution, and crimes against humanity!  (Aug 18, 2011 | post #6)

Huge Pro Gadafi demonstrations!!!

Who is "we?" You and JimBob? Two Canadian hicks don't represent the whole of Topix, you know... I personally think Abdurratln has brought a LOT of valuable insight and discussion to the table. Speak for yourself.  (Aug 2, 2011 | post #122)

Benghazi being re-taken by Pro-Qaddafi liberators!

http://lizzieslibe ration.wordpress.c om/2011/07/31/brea king-news-benghazi -being-taken-back- into-alfatah-revol ution/ Apparently, the green flag is flying at the Katiba again, and this has been the result of an angry Obeidi tribe and Warfallah tribe uniting with existing fifth column in Benghazi! If this is confirmed, it would be an INCREDIBLE blow to the NTC, and a tremendous victory for the Libyan people!  (Aug 1, 2011 | post #1)

pro-gaddafi uprising in libya

http://www.immorta hread-BREAKING-NEW S-BENGHAZI-BEING-T AKEN-BACK-BY-GADDA FI-S-FORCES Apparently, according to their contacts in Libya, pro-gaddafi forces have hoisted the green flag in Benghazi's military barracks, and have linked up with movements by the Warfallah and Obeidi (sp?) clans in the east, who both have declared allegiance to the loyalists. If this is confirmed, holy shit! :D  (Aug 1, 2011 | post #1)

Gadhafi's Using Foreign African Mercenaries Against Prote...

Wow, you're a rat. How can you say such harsh words about a man who is only standing up for freedom and liberty? Abdurratln is a supporter of national self-determination and freedom from foreign oppression, not the terrorist that you make him out to be. You are saying such unkind things, such horrible things, and yet you claim he is the person who is doing wrong? You are an enemy of the freedom of speech, of unity, and of peace, and it is you who should be exterminated, if we are to call for death.  (Aug 1, 2011 | post #4759)

NATO Strikes Aim to Stop Libya 'Terror Broadcasts'

Wow you're ignorant, haha. Norfolk is one of the most important cities in the country - it's got the largest naval base in the world, and a massive import/export hub. It's a seat of American military power and one of the most developed and prosperous cities on the east coast. By the way George, generally family trees tend to grow straight in little hick towns like yours. Now go hunt some deer and GIT'R'DONE! The outhouse is only a few hundred feet away if you need to clean all my shit off your face first.  (Aug 1, 2011 | post #13)

With rebels in charge, life returns to Libyan town

Haha why are they bothering to broadcast a radio station? It's not like anyone is tuning in for any little stupid rebel update. Nobody likes the rebels in the mountain chain, that's why they all fled when they rolled into qwalish and neighboring towns.  (Aug 1, 2011 | post #3)

Will the Libyan rebels ever take Brega

Guys guys, don't fight! We can get along here, both of you are very intelligent individuals. Let's not argue amongst ourselves, all comments are good comments; Libya is a very isolated place right now, very closed, so all information and discussion is good, so let's not put that at risk by arguing with each other.  (Jul 25, 2011 | post #290)

Haha, I love how you quote Wikipedia for factual information. Wikipedia is written by the masses, much of its information is inaccurate. Ever wonder why college professors ban the use of Wikipedia as a source?  (Jul 25, 2011 | post #4473)
