Golf Course.

The $48k that is given to the golf course is peanuts...smith is an ass...like the golf course alone is the reason we had a mill increase. The golf course serves all citizens equally, just like the tennis courts, ball fields etc. the golf course being closed didn't cause the mill increase, compared to the hundreds of thousands the county had to make up for, 48k is nothing.  (Aug 3, 2013 | post #22)

Sunday alcohol compromise isn't a good thing

What about the people who don't believe in Christianity? Should we allow the separation of church and state to be overruled?? I personally think its ludicrous to not sell on Sunday...if you don't want to buy alcohol then don't but let me have my choice.  (Mar 20, 2012 | post #1)

God vs. Allah vs. Osiris vs. Zeus vs. Mithra vs. Thor

Religion was Invented as a way of explaining things otherwise unknown, examples such as why the sun rises and falls everyday. Thousands of years ago, people believed a god rode a chariot across the sky. They created these stories to implement societal norms and boundaries. Now that we have the scientific knowledge to explain the real reason the sun rises and sets, religion is not needed. The religions of today are vastly different from their origins. But TRW has a point they all have similar origin and followers never assume that God is the same across religions or exclusive. They blindly believe whatever their religion tells them without critically thinking. Think for yourself!  (Feb 27, 2012 | post #42)

Elcan King Elementary

Yea we had a small issue that we wanted to speak with her about but she was kinda rude and defensive....seemed like she was scared we would take it further...we didn't like her and want to put our kids in a different school next year due to that  (Nov 1, 2011 | post #5)

Something not right

I agree to an extent....that fixing the symptom doesnt cure the disease...but then this family has lost trust with the school and where does that leave them?? I personally would ask them to initiate changes in policy to prevent this type of incident....but that doesn't solve the problem of one teacher and one paraprofessional in a room of 20 four year olds! The pre-k program is putting kids as young as 3 in a school situation that they just aren't ready for, not that I think pre k isn't important, but the student/teacher ratio needs to be lower...perhaps the state should hear of this as they pay for pre k not just the county...  (Aug 17, 2011 | post #6)

Iegalize Illegal Immigrants

Quite easy to sit at your pc and attempt to create foreign policy. The issue of immigration is far more complex. If we stopped using cheap labor in china, you would complain because prices would go up due to overhead increase. Then you would complain about that. Welfare abuse is a problem but sitting at home complaining isn't the answer. I mentor at risk teens in a wilderness setting and actually DO something, I pay taxes, and have never been on assistance, but I don't judge someone for working their ass off to make a better life or for needing help. You are no better than them just because you have money, not all people on welfare are abusers.  (May 22, 2011 | post #16)

Who Is THE BEST Pest Control In Bainbridge?

When we were renting a few years ago, juniors pest control sprayed our place. They were friendly and we never had a problem. The one issue we did have, they were there within an hour and came and searched for the source of the problem until they found it. The price imnot sure about due to the pest control was part of our lease agreement. We bought our house and we call them if we have problems.  (Mar 6, 2011 | post #2)

Fed up with Burger King

Or when in the drive through the person stays on their cell phone the wholetime and doesn't even say a word to you! I hate going there  (Mar 5, 2011 | post #7)

THE RATIONAL WILL. What is his Problem

Not exactly a selling point, he is not going to become Christian because you threaten him with something you can't prove exists...this is exactly why he seems defensive, people like you being judgmental and hateful because he believes (or not) differently...  (Feb 17, 2011 | post #35)

Drug Testing for Welfare

Sorry, but that is not feasible. The foster system is overrun with 3 no good foster parents for every good one. That system creates some of these people to begin with. A law like this can't be as simple as positive and welfare vanishes, pushing a law too aggressively will back fire!  (Feb 9, 2011 | post #6)

Drug Testing for Welfare

While I can agree to the idea in general how this is meant to improve things, I can't help but wonder what happens to the children of those who pop positive. The parent obviously needs the help, but if those benefits are gone how are the needs of the children met? I agree that testing is important and benefits should be withdrawn, perhaps one warning then termination, or safeguards for children to prevent kids falling in the cracks.  (Feb 9, 2011 | post #2)
