New to NBV, What street will you be moving to? We closed over a month ago and have 3 children, 2 of which are in first and third grade. You can try Pennington in Manassas or could try again in one year. It's my understanding that you have to apply for a variance each year, so you never know. I have some suggestions I could give you offline regarding your school situation. My wife and I were lucky enough to have our elementary children accepted into Nokesville for 2009-10 (next year).  (Apr 20, 2009 | post #65)

NBV resident & Happy in NBV, thanks for comments on the neighborhood. My wife and I had 2 concerns going in (negative comments in some forums and the elementary school). It's nice to know we won't have to worry about the neighborhood. We've received nothing but positive feedback from the residents!!  (Feb 15, 2009 | post #27)

Seabass, I did see that. I know the county works mysteriously sometimes with their school boundaries, but it would be hard to fathom NBV not attending since we are literally 3 miles away!! I haven't heard anything regarding the elementary school.  (Jan 9, 2009 | post #22)

I am planning on sending an additional e-mail as well, tomorrow, regarding the same displeasure with the school boundaries and the need to build the schools.  (Jan 5, 2009 | post #19)

Munich, thanks for the updates and information. We will certainly be very supportive regarding the new schools. In addition, wish us luck regarding Nokesville.  (Jan 4, 2009 | post #15)

Munich, just heard about Wednesday's board meeting on another post! I really don't want to have my children 'bussed' into some less desireable schools in the city of Manassas. Hopefully things will work out. Was it difficult have your child changed to Nokesville? I know our development used to attend Nokesville. Thanks for the replies.  (Jan 3, 2009 | post #13)

Let me know what happens (Moving soon). I plan on calling regarding Nokesville Elem. and the 'rezoning' this week. I will see what I can find out. Munich, not sure where the high school for NBV will be if they 'rezone'. I would think they would keep Brentville H.S. until they know what is going on with the new high school. I definitely think they would look at the elementary schools due to the fact there has been a significant increase in enrollment. Let me know if you both hear anything.  (Jan 3, 2009 | post #11)

Kacz, my wife and I are excited about moving in. Nice to hear the news regarding the neighborhood. We are looking forward to being active members of the neighborhood! The changes sound real positive. Our house will be finished in March, but we will not officially move in til June. Moving Soon, let me know how that waiver turns out. It looks like a new elementary won't be ready till 2011 (Kettle Run). It also looks like it will be right up the road. I prefer to keep my children in Bristow as well. Dwight, sounds like Halloween was a blast. That sounds awesome. Our neighborhood now turns off the lights and doesn't come to the door (during Halloween), so it will be a welcome change!! It also sounds not too bad regarding Ellis. As you can see from my previous comments, it looks as though we might be moving to a new elementary/high school in 2011 alot closer. JeffH, see my comments above regarding the elementary school and let me know if you hear anything else. Thanks for all the posts! You are always a little apprehensive about a move, but the posts on this site assured my family and I that we have made a great decision! Can't wait to move and join the neighborhood.  (Dec 25, 2008 | post #8)
