Teacher at Cambell High School giving F's
If the parents/guardians aren't monitoring their child's progress or lack thereof then they are guilty of educational negligence. I have had many students go into I don't have to any more work mode especially during the 4th quarter and then complain on why they failed or got a grade lower than they expected. A quick look at the grade books usually justifies any grade given. Now failing every single student does seem extreme, but I am presuming there were reasonable requirements not met by the students that resulted in that grade. (Jun 8, 2008 | post #41)
How unfortunate for you that you have had such bitter experiences with them. I teach them on a regular basis and they are people like everyone else. Now if they are breaking the law and otherwise doing bad things then they need to be reported to the police and make sure you have solid evidence to get them convicted. Time, date, place, and witness(es) at the very least. (May 29, 2008 | post #271)
Waianae students nabbed after fights
Did someone sound the troll alert already? Close the thread or get back on topic. (May 28, 2008 | post #386)
Wow....what a waste of time and energy to generate such spiteful rhetoric. Wahiawa Mom should have better things to do than belittle and berate people. (May 28, 2008 | post #254)
As I have said before, if they claim to be an educator then they had better have recent classroom experience and had been good at it. they should be put back into the classroom after a few years so that they don't lose touch with reality. The Peter Principle seems to be the rule rather than the exception for promotion and retention. (May 28, 2008 | post #226)
Gas it now at 4.49 per gallon and continuing to rise on Guam. Won't be long before Hawaii will be seeing those numbers. (May 26, 2008 | post #145)

Provide the statistics and get a name that is not so inflammatory. It doesn't help your credibility when your name is negative in nature. (May 25, 2008 | post #344)
Only the brave can last as a teacher. you will find yourself giving of everything you have and then some. But the rewards are fantastic in knowing that if you did your job right, that your students will be better people and that your work will benefit everyone in the long run. (May 25, 2008 | post #4)
Hawaii's average gas price tops $4 a gallon
that's not bad...wish it was like that here....$4.31 for the past month and going up again very soon. Seems like they are doing it in 10 to 15 cent increments and hoping that people won't get fed up enough to protest en masse. (May 24, 2008 | post #3)
Honolulu Lite: Earth technically still in ice age
I still remember when I could eat the fish, sea weed and other stuff from where I lived. Now it is not safe to eat any of the stuff. Heard of ciguatera poisoning and heavy metal poisoning? So it is not some fuzzy feeling. If I can't grow stuff safe to eat off the land and can't eat the stuff from the sea then there is something seriously wrong. If you choose to live in ignorance then do so and don't complain when you suffer the consequences. (May 24, 2008 | post #30)

prove it then. perception and reality are two different things. Waianae is far from perfect, but everyone wants to blame Waianae for all the island's problems. BTW a lot of those homeless are not from Waianae. (May 24, 2008 | post #338)
Honolulu Lite: Earth technically still in ice age
I just keep on thinking back to all those times the experts claimed there was nothing wrong with DDT, asbestos and all those other "safe" stuff. the truth is that we don't really know how much we have affected the ecosystem other than we have damaged it severely over a short period of time with pollution and other misuse. We may never know the extent of the consequences because we may end up causing our own extinction at the rate we are using up or otherwise destroying things. I would prefer that we err on the side of caution and scale back pollution and other destructive practices. (May 23, 2008 | post #26)

total exaggeration...if Waianae is the dirty armpit of oahu...then your place must be an unmentionable dirty part. (May 23, 2008 | post #327)
