Google takes Akron view from street
That is what happened. i work with someone whoe home address can be seen on "street view" and she is not happy about it. It's not only whether or not one can see inside the house but what if a child is in the yard, or riding their bike on the street? These are safety issues when it comes to possible abductions. It pinpoints exactly where a child can be found for all the world to see. (Friday Jun 27 | post #19)
Google takes Akron view from street
Google Maps has street views, at least in the Cleveland area at the moment and has come under scrutiny about invading people's privacy. I wonder how long it will take for people to start screaming about Google Earth having this. (Friday Jun 27 | post #3)
Fairlawn likely to book another hotel
But then there's the Radisson, Residence Inn, Comfort Inn, Studio Plus, Best Western, and the Fairfield, all in Copley. Then there's the Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Courtyard Marriott across the street in Bath at I-77 & 18. How many more hotels does one need in that area? With aproximately 12 hotels all within blocks of each other there just isn't a need for another hotel. No offense but Dellaganese needs to build what he builds best, office buildings. Fairlawn plan for cell tower splits churches
No, Religion class is only one part of the overall educational aspect of kindergarten at St. Hilary. There are other things being taught there. Faith Lutheran prepares the children for kindergarten based on the advanced cirriculum tought at St. Hilary. (Monday Jun 23 | post #163)
Fairlawn plan for cell tower splits churches
Then maybe your congregation should reconsider how much of the building plan you really need or look at alternative materials, that's what St. Hilary did when they added on. They even put things on hold until they had the funds to do what they wanted to do. That's what people in the real world do, if the money's not there, then it doesn't get done or cuts are made. Fairlawn plan for cell tower splits churches
Here is the Resolution adopted by Summit County with regards to the cell phone tower proposed for Bath Township, which by the way was T-Mobile - go figure! http://www.co.summ it.oh.us/council/p dfs/legislation/20 07/2007-237.pdf It was tabled at a Bath Trustees meeting and T-Mobile said they would explore other options. Here we are just alittle over a year later and T-Mobile is at it again. Here is photo of what the proposed tower would look like... http://www.akron.c om/20070329/wsl4.a sp http://www.akron.c om/20070524/wsl4.a sp (Thursday Jun 19 | post #78)

Meeting to discuss future land use in Copley
Just a point of information, Fairlawn used to be part of Copley Township and chose to become it's own municipality 30 some odd years ago. They obviously didn't want to be a part of the township then so I doubt they would want to be part of it again. (Thursday Jun 19 | post #8)
Fairlawn plan for cell tower splits churches
St. Hilary and Faith Lutheran have shared a very good relationship throughout the years. Every year the two churches come together for various church events including Palm Sunday, one of the holiest days in Christianity. Many of St. Hilary's families send their children to Faith Luteran's Pre-School, which by the way teaches the children based on St. Hilary's kindergarten curriculum. While the two faiths are different, the two churches have always been very neighborly. The fact that Faith Lutheran took the time to speak to the area businesses, residents and St. Hilary to tell them of their plans and then ignore their concerns by moving forward is irresponsible. It's not only about safety but asthetics. If I envision the area proposed correctly, everyone will have to look at the tower out in plain site, not inconspicuously placed so as not to draw attention. I hope the city of Fairlawn will take a stand like the residents of Bath did when a cell tower was proposed in the historic area around Ken Stewart's Lodge. (Thursday Jun 19 | post #9)
Falls targets landlords for meth lab cleanup
I believe that as dangerous as Meth is, and the chemicals that it takes to produce it are, that FULL disclosure whether you are renting out or selling a house is extremely important! It is the homeowner's responsibility to let anyone buying or renting that property what that house was used for. I don't think people realize just how dangerous the lingering smell, residue and chemical compounds are to anyone that moves into a house that was once used as a meth lab. I know I wouldn't want to find out from the neighbors or get really sick because of some lingering chemicals and not know why. That's putting my health and the health of my family in jeopardy. From what I understand it's almost next to impossible to "clean up" a meth house so that it's livable again. Is that true? I knew someone that lived in an apt building where a woman was attacked and left for dead. Once she was out of the hospital and moved out, the landlord came in and cleaned up the crime scene - blood stained walls, replaced carpet, etc - and then tried to rent it out again. He never told perspective renters that such a terrible crime had been committed in the apartment. I'm sure he withheld the information because he would lose the revenue from that unit, which I can understand, but people have a right to know for the sake of their health and safety, whatever the situation. Remote-controlled boats make waves in Springfield
I totally agree! This is becomming more and more common place. Walls on the highways because those that moved there didn't like the noise; wanting trains not to blow their whistles; upset because there's a dog kennel in their neighborhood and the dogs - god forbid - bark; people moved next to a farm but can't stand the noise of the farmers working and the list goes on! My god people, you moved near these so called "noisy areas" deal with it! What I find hilarious is that "Any noise in a residential area that surpasses 65 decibels during the day may be considered a nuisance and against county law, depending, of course, on other common-sense criteria such as the duration and nature of the sound." First of all, then lawn mowers should be banned (unless you live in Canton where you can go to jail for not mowing); second of all - COMMON SENSE! I have yet to see anyone or any township government use common sense for anything. Nowadays, the governments are trying to be so polictically correct that they have forgotten whats truly important to the locality they live in. Banning boats on a public lake because of the noise is not using common sense. That takes away the right of the public to use the lake and at the point the lake becomes private - all because someone didn't like the noise. If you live near Springfield lake and you are one of the ones complaining about the noise, STFU or move... better yet buy the lake and make it private. Then YOU have control over what and what can't be done. I don't see that happening. (Monday Jun 16 | post #37)
DUI program death hoax is defended
I can surely tell you that a 1970's movie, Blood on the Highway, is not going to phase today's teens. They showed me that movie in 1984 and I totally forgot about it until it was mentioned on this forum. Teens today see more blood and gore in the movies. Telling kids that their friends are dead and then saying "April Fools!" is not the way to go about it either, but there has to be some way to hammer it into teens, or anyone for that matter, that drinking and driving is dangerous. How about a trip to the morgue, or a ride-along with the local police force to the scene of an accident. There has to be something that will have the kind of impact these kids need to take it seriously. Does anyone have any suggestions? (Friday Jun 13 | post #38)
