New City Council Rules

Let me refer you to the "Should John Gilbert resign?" thread. Check posting #67. Wait, forget checking facts. Keep slinging lies, its what you do best. If any of you would check to see what my issues are it would be one thing but that isn't the way things are done here it seems.  (Mar 30, 2008 | post #112)

First off understand this. My Aunt Judy heard about this site. She thought she would come see what was going on. Like any mother would she spoke up for her son, and had the guts to put her name on it. Then "Poor" did attack her. Completely uncalled for and your wrong to even defend it. She is more principled than you are because she didn't hide who she is. And for the record, your right. They didn't put GL down. The attacked her. That's the difference and what I was commenting about. Evidently someone forgot that she has 3 other sons that don't consider themselves "Christians ". It was just my observation.  (Mar 30, 2008 | post #83)

In the future, New Madrid should?

I'm the idiot? Population experts don't saying anything about births and deaths equaling growth. It is in fact not growth. It is then stagnant. Population has to exceed, you do know what that means, births and deaths. I got it right. There is just a comprehension problem on your end.  (Mar 30, 2008 | post #13)

Bottom line: We should have left the utility problem and paying for it to our children. That way we would have been comfortable. At least until the whole system crashed.  (Mar 30, 2008 | post #59)

I'm glad you brought up those old stores. My mom remembers when New Madrid used to be someplace. I've never said I want New Madrid to have a million people. I just want those I love to be able to have a nice standard of living. Median household income: 2004 USA $44,334, Missouri $40,885, New Madrid County $29,676. Now if you were to take out the Noranda and Power Plant numbers, what would our median income be? That just been my thought all along.  (Mar 30, 2008 | post #10)

Just so I can get this straight. You talking trash about the Keene boys' mom? Wow! People pay attention to who this genius is voting for. Then vote for the other guy. I don't think you want to be on his "team".  (Mar 30, 2008 | post #79)

You are pathetic. What does the Roberts Rules have to do with defending anyone? Who am I defending. You small minded mental midget. Have you ever went a spoke before the city council? Better yet, have you ever attended one of their meetings? I have and sat and listened to people ramble on. I have spoke at a council meeting in Salt Lake http://www.slcgov. com/council/minute s/2005minutes/0809 2005.htm Guess what? Time limit. Oh yea, I'm "defending " them to. Your an idiot.  (Mar 29, 2008 | post #49)

Not a brown noser, and not a man. You know that GL is his own man. Something you evidently are not. Go pound sand brown nosed loser.  (Mar 29, 2008 | post #6)

I have taken a bit of heat here. Some because I wasn't born and raised in New Madrid and others because they want to fire off on me anonymously. This is for Preesie. I'm curious how many see things your way. Population experts tell us that if a communities population doesn't at the very least outpace births and deaths, then it is dying. That's not my opinion, its the opinion of the "experts ". So I want to know how you all feel. This one isn't a "political " thing. I don't care who your going to vote for. I don't care who you hate(including me), I just want to know what you want for New Madrid's future.  (Mar 29, 2008 | post #1)

Here you go. http://en.wikipedi a.org/wiki/Robert' s_Rules_of_Order This should be informative. You can talk for as long as you want to the Mayor, your Alderman, and for that matter John Gilbert. But rules have been established for years by people smarter than me to keep meetings professional and moving on. This has nothing to do with limiting the "voice of the people". It has everything to do with allowing everyone equal access.  (Mar 29, 2008 | post #44)

Pressie, thanks for helping me job my memory! You said earlier on another thread that you don't want New Madrid to change. I'm not sure we have anything else to talk about. But, for the sake of information I'll keep going. Population experts say that if the growth of a community does not out pace births and deaths, it is dying. That's not an opinion, that is fact. There are major problems in even getting investments into St. Jude due to our infrastructure. You may not want McDonald's, Stop Lights, and New Madrid to grow. Just remember those things you don't want are the very things that companies are looking for when they are relocating or expanding. Ask yourself why it is that no new industry has came to New Madrid in the last 20+ years? Why did Fred's pick Portageville? Why is it that millions of dollars pass on I-55 every year and not one tenth of one percent goes in our tax coffers? Everything changes and you know that New Madrid has changed also, just not for the better. So what are we going to do about it? Vote for the past or the future?  (Mar 27, 2008 | post #56)

Thank you "Somebody ". See I'm not even trying to act like I know all those details, I don't. What I do talk about are things I do know. If people coming on this site would read all the posts before the go crazy, it would help a ton. Thanks for your speaking up.  (Mar 27, 2008 | post #47)

Should John Gilbert Resign as City Manager?

I didn't say I have a sniffer. I'm not saying I can figure out who HateNM is, I'm just saying I hope the government does if he is going to threaten someone on here. Think about it Preesie. Why would I violate the TOS and put my name and picture on my post? As for spelling, oh well I missed a couple. Big deal. Whats important here is what we are talking about.  (Mar 27, 2008 | post #103)
