new cinema in Corsicana

I would love to see a new one built or one of the empty (too many empty) buildings redone to house a new Cinema. While I love the Palace Theater, it too is old. We need bigger screens and better sound system  (Jun 1, 2008 | post #4)

Hillary Clinton

News Analysis: Options Dwindling for Clinton

Just a little history about NAFTA found on Wikipedia: History of the implementation NAFTA was initially pursued by politicians in the United States and Canada supportive of free trade, led by Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, U.S. President George H. W. Bush, and the Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari. The three countries signed NAFTA in December 1992, subject to ratification by the legislatures of the three countries. There was considerable opposition in all three countries. In the United States, NAFTA was able to secure passage after Bill Clinton made its passage a major legislative priority in 1993. Since the agreement had been signed by Bush under his fast-track prerogative, Clinton did not alter the original agreement, but complemented it with the aforementioned NAAEC and NAALC. After intense political debate and the negotiation of these side agreements, the U.S. House of Representatives passed NAFTA on November 17, 1993, by 234-200 vote (132 Republicans and 102 Democrats voting in favor; 43 Republicans, 156 Democrats, and 1 independent against), and the U.S. Senate passed it on the last day of its 1993 session, November 20, 1993, by 61-38 vote (34 Republicans and 27 Democrats voting in favor; 10 Republicans and 28 Democrats against, with 1 Democrat opponent not voting -- Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-ND), an ardent foe of NAFTA, missed the vote because of an illness in his family).  (May 9, 2008 | post #604)

Hillary Clinton

News Analysis: Options Dwindling for Clinton

You hit the nail right on the head. I started out being a Hillary supporter. NAFTA was the senior Bush's baby and I thought the biggest mistake Bill made, in his first year, was to HONOR Bush 1 by allowing NAFTA to go through. As the pundants predicted, we did hear the sucking sound of jobs leaving the US! But, a couple of things bothered me about Hillary. One was the fact that she failed at getting us health care reform. The other was her attitude/presumpti on that she had the Presidency sewn up. Now, due to her usual Washington politicking, Carl Rove tactics, pandering to the voters with this ridiculous Gas Tax Holiday and her attacking her opponent, as if he was her Republican opponent, I am now 100% for Obama. His message is a message this country needs to hear and has yearned for. My grand kids are interested in politics, now. My eight year old grandson is angry he is not allowed to vote, yet. I have never seen so many people excited about an election, since President Kennedy ran. To me, voting for Hillary would keep us wallowing in Washington's mud pit and keep us tied to the past. Walters Comes Clean On Star Jones Weight Debacle: Star responds...

All I can say is, if she was going to write a book about her life, then why not tell all? I do think she could have told about her affair without naming the person. I think the story made good reading and gave us insight about who she is, without having to out the person, who the affair was with.  (May 9, 2008 | post #17)
