Chief Williams steaming mad

Wow, your tirade was a borish as Watsons: please quit drinking the Koolaid okay, you will begin to see the light within a few weeks. Besides that reference to the Taylor Laws (which i will review), 'eye on the issues' was spot on. He or she was obviously someone that doesn't by into the whining and crying that has been going on about the poor UPD and UFD. The only thing the two Chiefs have done is influenced the council to see things their way (check and see who got what endorsements) and once again, the taxpayers are left hanging. And before someone jumps and says police and firemen pay taxes too, we know that is true. But when the median income for a family in Utica is under $27,000 it hurts those taxpayers more. Let's apply some common sense (Utican, don't even bother, it's not worth the brain strain)- if lower income home owners don't have the money, I guess by your thought process, it's okay for "those poorer scumbags" to suffer, right? Also, where was the huge contingent of firemen and police men in the council meetings the past month? No where to be found. Maybe they should take interest in what goes on in city government instead of doing the "union shuffle" when all it was about was them: there is some real Brotherhood! Bottom line- the whole affair was the mayor's doing. He promised the world, and he never delivered. Just another idiot, who LUCKILY won the election. Rob, you should be kissing Cardillo's ass for where your ass sits now.  (Apr 6, 2012 | post #24)

Roefaro opens up a consultation cooperation

His goal must be to bankrupt the customer before he can hook up with any public sector as he did with Utica. This must be a country wide business as no one locally would support the S.O.B. that raped Utica financially!  (Apr 5, 2012 | post #2)

utica coffee roasting co serves up a hot cup of herpes

Exactly, the coffee, although a little pricey, is excellent and Miss Heather is a wonderful fun person to talk with. Frank Elias has a nice shop and does a great job of roasting coffee. As for BLACK COFFEE's rants, just another TOPIX moron spreading hate. Enjoy the Utica Roasting Company: a locally owned business with great cup of coffee- and try her homemade muffins as the ones with Nutella inside are delicious! Keep up the good work Frank and Heather.  (Apr 5, 2012 | post #6)

Palmieri out cleaing the streets??

So why isn't the mayor actually doing work that the mayor should be doing? Oh right, he can't. http://www.uticaod .com/features/x221 035458/Mayor-Rober t-Palmieri-leads-f irst-quality-of-li fe-sweep Sweep those streets Rob as you are probably suited for that type of work.  (Apr 4, 2012 | post #1)

Top Three Council that should be removed.

Who? Remember- no one person can balance a budget, and our default winning mayor didn't help either. It isn't ALL about who you vote in, but how vocal the taxpayers are during their term. If you elected a council person and their job is not up to par, open your mouth and you complain. I certainly do. If not, then it doesn't matter who you vote in. nothing will change. Personally speaking, there are councilmen and women in office that do not think for themselves, and everyone knows who they are. THEY are the ones that are keeping the "status quo" alive and well in Utica.  (Apr 4, 2012 | post #41)

Utica Police layoffs and demotions become a reality

True Mr.Meat Head. Also, if response is erroneously delayed or not consistent to normal response, and is out of showing "support " for their buddies that got laid off, this would open up a can of worms with violation of the Taylor Laws. Interesting situation in Utica. Lesson should be deal with it, but I am, not sure the UPD or UFD are accustomed to with the "deal with it" situations we taxpayers face every day.  (Apr 3, 2012 | post #12)

Top Three Council that should be removed.

The voting in this poll seems to be accurate. Living in Utica all my life I have seen all of the miscreants that have filled the positions in Utica's Political Arena. The council foolishly bowed to the mayor, and Palmieri has as much stated that he doesn't care what the taxpayers would decide on council up/down vote for union contracts, not ratification of contracts, just the "yes/no" vote after they were negotiated. Those would have had 10 people putting their stamp on it instead of one. Will we vote on this come November? No, because Rob doesn't want to lose his power to negotiate, when he truth is the uneducated buffoon doesn't know how to negotiate. Most of the chicken council let the mayor get away with this, not overriding his decision. Bottom line is these elected twerps decided we, as taxpayers, do not get to voice our opinions, they made our mind up for us. Again, this new administration and council have decided not to use logic or common sense since, or so it seems so far. Ehh, nothing new for Utica.  (Apr 3, 2012 | post #38)

Zecca and Viscera will vote No on 2% property tax cap Goo...

TBS, Mark Mazzo, the 5th ward councilman candidate already made two press releases statement about this weeks ago, He called Jerry Kraus out and demanded an explanation for it, even at a common council meeting. Of course the Utica OD never picked it up.  (Oct 4, 2011 | post #12)

Roundabout: have you driven thorugh it yet?

LOL very true, but you forgot to finish it by saying ".....and then leaves office and Utica in a financial mess!" Hands down: worst mayor ever for Utica.  (Oct 3, 2011 | post #29)

Vescera + Zecca = Transparency

Unfortunately No thank u, it's the small steps that lead to the greater change. As far as these two go, this isn't political posturing as they have been trying to change the wrong since they were elected. Any regular read of the OD or the news would prove this to be true. Want to talk about posturing, look at Kraus and how he used his position at the Stevens Swan Humane Society to have his picture splashed all over the media or McKinsey writing a letter to the mayor about the streets after he kissed his backside for two years: these two are lost causes. Sadly, in Utica, it is all about the "political machine" doing it's best to remain in power but they are losing their grip. More power to Zecca and Vescera for having the balls to stand up to the machine!  (Oct 3, 2011 | post #3)

Roundabout: have you driven thorugh it yet?

Have anyone here done so? I have and I think it is a pretty lame attempt and a big waste of money- not enough planning for snowplowing, tractor trailers and overall mess in traffic. Comments?  (Oct 1, 2011 | post #1)

5th Ward needs Mazzo

talked to Mark Mazzo today and I have to say I am impressed. he's an intelligent, likable guy with a lot of determination to clean up the 5th ward. his ideas are positive, outlining just how these problems here do have fixes. have talked to one other running, but Mark was defiantly the outstanding choice out of the two. never even talked to our current rep) it is just my humble opinion, but after talking with him, he has my vote. dont know how to add a link but search for mark w mazzo  (Sep 22, 2011 | post #1)

Half the lights in Utica are uncessary- too bad the amount of idiot licensed people can't drive. Lights, Stop signs- it doesn't matter. Idiots are idiots! ;)  (Sep 17, 2009 | post #32)
