Arterial swath

I meant to say to being the arterial itself up to current standards.  (Aug 12, 2013 | post #8)

Arterial swath

I never stated that there was not a loss of tax revenue as a result of the project, only that there are no direct costs. It is still needed and there is no way around replacing the bridge and bringing it up to current traffic standards.  (Aug 12, 2013 | post #7)

New Emergency Route Signs

Hey yourself DUDE. My thong wasn't in a knot I was merely curious but thanks for the kind assholeish response. My apologies that I missed the night that they covered that on the news. You can take that stick out of your ass now.  (Aug 12, 2013 | post #11)

New Emergency Route Signs

Why are there Emergency route signs popping up? I have seen the "D" and "E" routes around Oriskany Blvd and Commercial drive. Are they new designated disaster routes and such for city wide evacuation?  (Jul 30, 2013 | post #1)

87% of UTICA dislikes the UTICA SIGN

I noticed it the other day and was like "Really? " Weird place and too small for way over there. Also I agree, drop the red.  (Jul 30, 2013 | post #20)

windows for $259? SCAM!

Cost wise? Installed and warranted it can be 600 to 1200 for a double hung depending on the size.  (Jul 30, 2013 | post #33)

Just don't skimp out on cheap windows, you will pay for them over and over in energy costs. Look for the LOWEST U-Value you can find. Ideally you want a U value of 2.0 or lower for a nice high quality window. Look for metal locking hardware, Low E coating, Argon (Or better is Krypton) gas fill, insulated sashes, reinforced sashes, non recycled plastic, and the window spacers are REALLY important too. Make sure they are NOT aluminum. It's highly conductive. The spacers should also be U-Channeled to help prevent thermal transfer, keep the seal from breaking and losing all your gas, plus it will condensate on the inside as well if the seal breaks. If you can afford triple pane, it's better than double. Happy shopping!  (Feb 19, 2013 | post #20)

Rt 12 Speed Limit Increase

Here is some math: From Alder Creek it would save you about 7 mins and from Boonville it will save you up to 12 mins. That's only one way. I would take that time savings. It makes a difference when you only have to drive an hour round trip rather than an hour and 20 mins round trip. That's almost 2 hours I would get back every week. Now, multiply that out by the number of people using the road and how much time is given back to all those people every week from the speed increase?  (Nov 19, 2012 | post #16)

Rt. 12 Highway lights - Turned off

I think they are required at interchanges. I don't mind that they are off in between though. If there is an accident at night and lights that are supposed to be on are not, can the city be held responsible for the accident if they may have been able to prevent it and were legally required to be on?  (Nov 16, 2012 | post #7)

Rt 12 Speed Limit Increase

Yeah, it's easy to get caught at the top of that hill if you don't have cruise control. I feel bad for people that aren't from around here that get caught. They would still be able to nail people going 75. It would really help out those that commute from an hour away to work in the Utica area cutting down travel time. Plus businesses that have to deliver things.  (Nov 16, 2012 | post #4)

Bova knocked 'em dead with this Joke

He's not too bad. I do enjoy the Comedy Central NY team that has been putting on events and I know he's involved with them. I think they are going to do it all Winter.  (Nov 16, 2012 | post #16)

Rt. 12 Highway lights - Turned off

Does anyone know why the highway lights are off near the 790/49/12 interchange? They are also off south of the French road exit. It's kind of a safety issue, not to mention making the city look broke and run down. (I know I know, many feel we are broke and run down but maybe some dressing up will take care of that.) I am thinking that there is a problem that is scheduled to be fixed along with the Arterial Project next year?  (Nov 16, 2012 | post #1)

Rt 12 Speed Limit Increase

Are there any plans to make Rt. 12 65 MPH rather than 55 MPH? I know the Arterial Realignment is pushing forward and I was hoping maybe there was also something to raise the speed limit for the north side of Rt. 12 through Alder Creek to something more appropriate.  (Nov 16, 2012 | post #1)
