Officers find 78 pounds of pot during bust

Ummm, if it was an email from me you'd have about a 97% chance of falling asleep. Yes, they really are that boring. Then there's the 36% of people who get an email from me who choose to drive off a cliff rather than having to read the whole thing. In fact, if you're driving a car don't read this.  (Apr 20, 2007 | post #182)

9NEWS - U.S./World - Article - At least 1 killed, others ...

Wow, almost twice as many as Columbine. I'll never understand why some people have to take innocent lives as a way to end their own.  (Apr 16, 2007 | post #6)

Court ruling makes smoking ban hazy

Speaking of laughter, this story always cracks me up. A 32-year-old Boulder man who had opened his apartment's patio door to enjoy Wednesday's unusually warm weather was later overheard screaming threats and seen waving what appeared to be a handgun, prompting a maintenance worker to call police. Officers, as a precaution, evacuated the man's apartment building and called SWAT officers to assist in defusing the situation. It turned out that the man was simply upset at his computer - which he had called a " **** " he "wanted to kill," police said - and the gun was a plastic pellet gun, not the .45-caliber automatic handgun it was made to resemble. "It was alarming and concerning and expensive for us, but the man's conduct didn't warrant any criminal charges," Deputy Police Chief Dave Hayes said.  (Apr 13, 2007 | post #90)

You're welcome to say anything at all with one exception. No mention of feeding anything or anyone to a lion except for zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, gazelles or impalas. It makes my brain hurt.  (Apr 13, 2007 | post #88)

Court ruling makes smoking ban hazy

I had the same thing happen last week. A poster called me an idiot or whatever and things just went down hill from there. Other people joined in, curse words started flying, then it was my fault for starting it. I guess the insult towards me that began it all didn't count for some reason. As far as this topic goes, as long as a smoker can light a cigarette before going outside it doesn't matter where they are or what the weather's like. Whether it's Arizona, Colorado, or Antarctica a true smoker will brave them all. Personally, if there is a non-smoking section that is adequately protected from the smoke I think that's fine. Letting businesses decide whether that want to be all smoking or no smoking is another good idea. As far as someone calling you stupid and/or anything else insulting they would only be right if it's Opposite Day or they're living on Bizarro World. By the way, you and Dude are welcome to email me if you'd like. Since I haven't lived here very long I don't have many friends yet and it would be nice to have a rational and intelligent conversation with you guys. You can click on the Angry Raccoon and that will take you to my profile. My email address is listed in the homepage space.  (Apr 13, 2007 | post #83)

CBS fires Don Imus from radio show

I still think the major difference here is that Imus insulted a specific group of individuals, not a race, religion, etc. Whether he is truly a racist is anyone's guess but I'm guessing he probably isn't because of the charity work he does and contributes to. Did he deserve to get fired for what he said? Since I don't personally like "shock jocks" my answer would be biased and unfair. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson? Give me a break. They are such attention seekers and caricatures of themselves they make the sketches that Saturday Night Live does about them seem more realistic. Rap music? From what I've listened to of it I would have never dreamed swear words, hatred, racism, and self pity could make millionaires out of people.  (Apr 12, 2007 | post #5)

Debate surfaces after teens charged as adults

My comment was to Richard's suggestion to charge the parents as well as the children. I think the parents will pay a high price anyway as Deb alluded to in her comment.  (Apr 12, 2007 | post #133)

Debate surfaces after teens charged as adults

It's going to be a little hard to charge Tess Damm's mom for obvious reasons. She already got the death penalty. Maybe rehabilitation would work with some children for some crimes. But in this case it seems like the crime took premeditation if not extensive planning and it strains my mind to think they didn't know what they were doing and that it was wrong. If so, they can make that argument at their trials.  (Apr 12, 2007 | post #132)
