I love being able to watch programming that I missed OnDemand, so I can understand your disappointment if the program is not available. Just to provide some clarification, the Networks determine when they send new movies and shows to OnDemand. Some of Networks provide a quicker refresh rate than the others. Most Networks will refresh movies between 50% and 100% per month. Similarly, most of the Primetime content lasts for about 4 weeks.
