City Insurance and jobs

The elected officals who pretend they are so concerned about the city's budget are proposing a switch with the insurance companies. Everyone wants them to save jobs and keep people employed. The aldermen should take the lead and look at how they are abusing the power of their office. Their greed about the health insurance that the taxpayers pay is pure selfish. The prosecuters are asking the courts to throw the book at the former governor for abuse of power while in office. It's time for us to demand that the aldermen do what they were elected to do. How can they cut hours, jobs, etc. and pretend to be so concerned about a budget when they abuse the system just to meet thier own greedy agenda???  (Dec 1, 2011 | post #1)

Finance Committee Meeting 1`PM Today About Library Budget...

The aldermen appointed an insurance advisory board to give them advice about the insurance and were told how they could save between $260,000-$500,000 and no one would lose there insurance, but NO! They showed their true colors when they did nothing! amd now they face a 10 perent premium increase...get real people! Go to those meeting and tell them how you feel!  (Oct 26, 2011 | post #6)

Metropolis to lay off public works workers or cut their h...

The people of Metropolis haven't earned the right to complain about the way things are going. Very few people show up at the council meeting to even talk about it.The Aldermen picked an advisory board to review the city's health insurance and the board advised the aldermen how to save thousand of dollars. The greedy aldermen did what most politicians do when it get in their pockets. Nothing was done and the citizens didn't do anything either. That money could have been saved and used to help the county or saved city jobs. Two weeks after they refused to change the insurance, they voted to raise the water and sewer rates and the the PPA electric. Pass it on, Billy and council!!!  (Sep 27, 2011 | post #50)
