What changes would you like to see at L.C.S.O. ?

Most agencies that have aquired accredition, have two accreditation managers, a Captain and a Lieutenant, the salaries alone with benefits such as retirement, insurance patrol car etc, comes to over $100.000 a year. Moultrie PD's accreditation managers only work on accreditation. I know this first hand. I beleive Valdosta PD's managers only work on accreditation. Check with Tybe Island PD, they gave up accreditation for "STATE CERTIFICATION " Like I said more bang for the buck.  (Jul 27, 2008 | post #22)

Well JD has said he would develope a physical fitness program for the S.O. Does he think the deputies that are over weight he spoke about in a departmental meeting and bashed so bad will vote for him? Treat others as you want to be treated!!!  (Jul 27, 2008 | post #6)

I noticed that JD and Ashley traded in their Chargers R/T (not regular chargers, RT's are $40,000) for a Tahoe and and older Crown Vic, did Ashley buy the R/T and Tahoe liked he promised and as he started out 16 years ago? I wonder if he is still a $1.00 a year man like he promised years ago and will he be as chairman of the board... Just wondering.  (Jul 25, 2008 | post #3)

Candidates square off

Don't you just love a site that you can write anything about anybody and not have to include your name. I started posting a few days ago, I try to read all posts, I have just one request, list the location where your information can be found. Public records are wonderful. Because I can prove the good ole boy system with such promotions, firings and other tactics at LCSO, I'll be glad to share where you can find my information at. Keep it real, do your own investigation into the candidate you choose to vote for, you'll never have second thoughts. Thanks for reading  (Jul 20, 2008 | post #99)

Are gas prices affecting police?

I was just corrected by a friend, each agency has a police and procedure manual, an unwritten policy is a procedure, my bad... they still leave them running when they get at a store, eating or just B.S.ing. Deputies please turn that car off and help out us tax payers.  (Jul 20, 2008 | post #12)

If there is no policy on keeping their cars running, why did I see two patrol cars parked at a resturant running while the two deputies were eating, well one was eating and the other was just talking, not only does this burn gas, for each hour a car runs, this equals to 34 miles driven. Think about the life of the car!!!  (Jul 20, 2008 | post #11)

Thank you, Richard Chafin

I know why Richard wasn't reelected, he lost touch with his citizens, I had a problem with one of his deputies, he called and cussed me out while he was on duty, I called and left messages for Richard for three weeks, I then mailed him a letter with a request to call me back. Guess what, he never called!!! I talked to a couple of farmers from the North end of the county, they said they were having chemicals stolen from their farms, they corner the suspect, called the S.O. they told them they were busy, get a tag number and they would get back to them on Monday. If Richard doesn't have time for his citizens, how does he exept to get re-elected.  (Jul 20, 2008 | post #19)

To I guess this is made up: Calvin Troy was rehired back at LCSO for a while, Matt Bair was also, he made the comment, that him being fired was just a super long suspension. Terry Griffin was hired back after killing his K9, Bair has wrecked so many cars, I've lost count. Once an employee has been fired, he/she should never be re-hired. Just an opinion.  (Jul 18, 2008 | post #599)

"Due Process" requires you to adopt a responsible governance police concerning enforcemeny of policies and procedures including notice and hearing procedures. You must form a group of "Impartial decision makers" when you discipline an employee, promote employees etc, or at least make available a due process hearing. You no longer have the capability of firing "at will" or at the pleasure of the Sheriff.  (Jul 11, 2008 | post #384)

IF LCSO would turn off their patrol cars when they are out of them, they would save a ton of gas. They have a policy saying they have to leave it running, What type of crap is that?  (Jul 9, 2008 | post #7)

Each year, LCSO hold their Christmas Party in Remerton, I've seen deputies leave drunk in a patrol car, Remerton PD was told to stay away. I know of a deputy that plays golf with Ashley, if he wins, he gets to put flowmaster mufflers on his patrol car. He now has a Dodge Charger, he responded to an accident without injuries or road blockage, he was told to disreguard the call but came anyway, he then bragged about how fast he drove to the scene over 149mph.If anyone cares, check the public records at the county and coubt the patrol cars they have wrecked on purpose when JD told them too while chasing someone for a traffic infraction. Also, why does the tax payers pay for chips in the patrol cars to make them go faster? My last beef...Can anyone tell me why JD's brother in law was hired and the promoted to Captain in lest than a year and his sister was also hired and promoted to Sergeant in the sane time? All I know is that the next Sheriff of Lowndes County should stop the good ol boy crap that is going on at LCSO. All I said here is public record, the party can be watched in December...  (Jul 9, 2008 | post #356)

I think the truth will come out on the 15th, wild parties at off duty deputies homes,Deputies leaving the Christmas party in Remerton, most have been drinking, if you are not in the click, you'll have a hard time working for LCSO. Deputies travel over 140 mph to an accident without injuries or road blockage and then brag about how fast their new Charger will run. Also how many patrol vehicles have been wrecked in the past, To bad radio scanners were not available when the new 800mzh system came out, you could hear a Captain telling deputies to wreck anyone trying to get away. Also what about JD hiring his brother-in-law and sister and then promoting him to Captain in less than a year and her to Sergeant. Just some of the crap that happens at LCSO.  (Jul 8, 2008 | post #62)

Police officers open fire in residential neighborhoods now?

I know the gentleman that the puppy (B.S) attacked, he has over 30 years experience riding a motorcycle, he was riding a new motorcycle at the time of the attack. He was injured from the attack but refused medical help at the scene, but later got medical help. Now about the dog (not a puppy) and he was a mixed pit bulldog. From my understanding, this type of dog is not allowed in Hahira without a permit. Since you have been living here less that a year, maybe you didn't know that. I know many officers and none would have told you unnessary force was used if they were not on the scene. An I never heard of staying in your car until animal control arrives. I think you screwed up and failed to protect the animal you were entrusted to care for, got a citation for you blunder and are ticked off, you should grow up and take responsibility for your actions.  (Jul 8, 2008 | post #2)
