Carrie Underwood delivers 'OK' show to 6,700 at Don Haskins Center

El Paul El Paso, TX Reply » |Report Abuse |#30 Wednesday May 7 Can't imagine all the losers who spent their money for this. When can we see her dancing on a pole and collecting $1.00s CREEPY. Undoubtedly, I hope you are not indicataive of the intelligent life source found in El Paso. If you are, quite frankly, THAT blows chunks.  (Monday May 12 | post #81)

My login, TxCuFan, should not be taken as an inference that I am OBSESSED with Carrie. All the more reason to have included the following disclaimer before posting any comments: Reality check: Fans realize that after being on the road for such lengthy periods, artists will hit a bump in the their performance. Fans ALSO recognize when a performance is being railroaded with preconceived opinions. Why do we even have PAID reviewers anyway? Why not have interns from area highschools write reviews for extra credit? (Post 66) That was meant to be an explanatory statement prior to my comments. Neither should the QUANTITY of comments written be considered a reason to conclude that I am obsessed with ALL who do not share my "obsession ". Once again, my reason for posting was prefaced by the following comments: El Paso Times shame on you. This is sloppy unprofessional reporting at its best..and that's not a good thing. There are other remarks that can only be construed as VAGUE and so POINTLESS, BUT THAT WILL COME LATER. (Post 66) There were many instances in which any artist's name could have been substituted for Carrie's name due to the fact that he was not commenting on her singing. Instead he was interjecting his personal views and opinions that had nothing to do with her performance AND expanding on his redundant opinions. Here are just a few examples: A pre-Mother's Day dedication of "Don't Forget to Remember Me," a song inspired by her own mom (which brought her to tears when she performed it in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago), would have been a nice touch. Instead, she introduced it by saying how much she appreciated the fans "for giving me a job," which she PROBABLY says EVERY night. (Post 73) ...UNNEEDED catwalk, awkward costume changes, routine audience PATTER and uneven pacing". (post 67) Maybe she couldn't or WOULDN'T depart from the script. (post 72) "She'd be wise to study opener Josh Turner, he's got a batch of songs that reflect the life he values-- home, faith, family and the love of a woman (that was his wife, Jennifer, on keyboards)". (post 68) To conclude, perhaps if he hadn't written numerous negative articles about the SAME concert, I would not have reciprocated with my own rebuttals. The only thing that I do apologize for are the subsequent double postings that occurred under my login.  (Sunday May 11 | post #78)

You're forming an opinon about a concert you did NOT attend AND calling those who did LOSERS? Guess you know what's next...You know what they say about people that ASSume, on second thought you PROBABLY don't. As for WHEN can we see her dancing on a pole and collecting $1.00s? NEVER. Your mom and sister own the pole and your dad loves his moneymakers too much to let it go..especially Friday night specials ...they go for pesetas instead of dollars.  (Friday May 9 | post #65)

Yea, why did he write TWO articles about the same concert? He couldn't edit the information into ONE single article? Why does the photograph have the wrong information about Carrie's opening song? Hands down Carrie does her job much better than this free ticket concert reviewer.  (Friday May 9 | post #62)

Newman: I agree with you. My favorite song is Stand By Your Man performed at Grand Ole Opry by Carrie Underwood. Barbara Mandrell and her friends jumped to their feet to join in a standing ovation. Also, Loretta Lynn has praised Carrie's powerful voice during the recording of their How Great Thou Art CD. Oh, not to mention accolades from Vince Gill and Randy Travis.  (Friday May 9 | post #61)

That's because your petrified brained has morphed into useless splinters. You are sending a wrong image of El Paso Mexican Men.  (Friday May 9 | post #60)
