What Kind Of Business Does Bowie Need ?

There are definitely pros and cons to voting Bowie wet and alcohol sales. Starting a petition drive and jumping through the hoops that are required to put the vote before the city council will be a very lengthy and tedious process. It will garner it's share of criticism from both sides. You have to remember that we have about 30 churches, of all denominations, that will publicly protest the move. Larger cities, some in the metroplex area, have been denied alcohol sales recently and probably due to the lobbying of organized religion. We used to worry about Nocona not liking the fact that we were seeking alcohol sales, but now Saint Jo is jumping on the bandwagon. We should watch how that turns out. As for Bowie, I think that the increase in revenue would justify the yes vote.  (Nov 15, 2009 | post #13)

Unfortunately, Mr. Henry was probably putting his batteries in somebody elses flashlight, if you know what I mean...And hey, he's just another reason that MCSO needs more deputies. Excessive force in Montague Co.

It's been my experience that everyone in law enforcement is corrupt, especially if you're a dirtbag. Drugs are not so evil if you're a doper. Alcohol is not that big of a problem as long as you're a drinker and getting shot at is not so bad as long as you're not the one getting shot at. Everybody needs a break and Allsups is as good of a place as any. And why not? As long as some of y'all are asleep or busy writing hateful and useless posts, the police don't have to be looking too hard. Next Sheriff?

I didn't vote for Obama...I didn't want him in office, but I still don't agree that the public has to judge how he performs in the "first 100 days" in office. I beg that the public does not judge how the new sheriff has done in that same first 100 days. It's almost November now, not quite a year, but well past the first 100 days. Sure, the sheriff's office is still in transition and will be for the next 3 years. Keep him or vote him out, the office will continue to be molded into something different and most likely something better. It will continue to evolve after he's gone and someone else has the reigns. It's up to us to continue to make positive change and vote for who and what we believe in. My vote was for Cunningham and I have no regrets so far. Give it time.  (Oct 30, 2009 | post #29)
