lol... I have not a clue to what my son is. He just got there and I recieved a phone call last night that he was in his reception. Less than a 10 sec call. Mom I'm in reception, don't send no packages, tell all i love them and pray for me. that was it. :) How do I know what he is? or What unit etc. I am just waiting patiently to hear everything when it is time.  (Aug 13, 2009 | post #8)

menegitis/graduation

I am a mom of a new soldier in FLW. Now into his first reception/basic. I fully trust FLW base to care for my kid. In cases of meningitis those can be contained. I work for a major hospital in our city and don't find that to be a worried part of my end as a Military Momma~! Yes, I am guilty of coddling my kids. When my son left me I told him that the Army would do the job I wasn't able to do. Make him Strong. As one day if he is in another country defending our Americans and helping others I so want him to be prepared, proud and able to do his job and come home alive. That was the sacrifice he made in wanting to sign up. What has me to this day since he has been gone upset, is the Recruiter. They wear a Military uniform and granted they may have earned that right, however they have not earned the right to stand behind that uniform and LIE. I was dismayed, hurt and shocked about what has happened just in the time my son left to the time he arrived at FLW. Although all recruiters might not lie. I cannot judge each and every man or woman in that job catagory however the one I met has lied. He is a Liar in a Military uniform. That upsets me as there are better soldiers and to me that man is an insult to them. How he can stand and be Proud is beyond me, but rest assure I stand behind everyone of those kids at that base. I respect their DS's even though the kids don't like them at times or trust them. They have a job to do and I am sure they do it well. In our world the way it is I can fully understand it is rough on us Mothers and Fathers etc. But behind every soldier is another famiy member standing Proud. I am Proud of my Pvt. Even if he has been told to drop and give 100.  (Aug 13, 2009 | post #50)

basic training

Too late for that. The Recruiter said he didn't need his cell phone. so when they picked him up he had what was on the list and 10 bucks in his pocket and that was it. When people ask me now anything about Recruiters. I tell them talk with ARmy mothers and fathers. Recruiters LIE, Until I meet one that tells me the truth with honesty and integrity and up right moral values in mankind then I will trust them but now with my experience as a Christian mother. I felt like I was tricked by Satan himself. I have the utmost respect for those who are in the Military But I have lost my respect for that soldier who wears that uniform and lies behind what they stand for! Shame on Recruiters! When I see that man ever in anyplace I will voice my voice so loudly he will wish he never LIED to me! And I will call him for what he is. A Liar! Sorry just had to vent that because it is the TRUTH. They could of let him get stuff taken away...like all the others I have so talked with! Now I am hearing horror stories about Fort Leonard Wood. Wondering to myself is there any sacred place a parent can go to to hear the honest TRUTH.  (Aug 13, 2009 | post #20)

basic training

New Jersy Army Mom. THANK YOU! Did you get to see him during that couple day break from basic to AIT? So when I write him I can send phone cards? No one told me what I could send or what I could not. I guess I should wait until I hear? Which kind are best to buy for him to use? Where is your son today? Does he feel that the MP program prepared him for a job outside of military life? Oh my this seems like a whole new world to me in regards to my kid. The recruiter here in Michigan said that when my kid finished Basic they would have a graduation day for it. Where it would be just one day the kids would then the next day go to AIT. So I was under the impression that I would go to FLW for his basic graduation and then again for his AIT graduation. Gosh I hope I don't end up traveling for nothing! Gosh Thanks for your information. Do you know of anywhere else I can search for updates, information, chat in regards to his group? My email is [email protected] com I sure could use your knowledge base as a guide for myself I hope you wouldn't mind.  (Aug 10, 2009 | post #18)

basic training

My son just left for basic MP training at FLW and he was told that upon graduation from basic he would go right into AIT training. So I figure I am only going to see he that day he graduates and then another time at his AIT graduation. From there I have no clue. They took him here from home to a hotel for the night and I found out the hotel and called him, after that I have not heard one peep. I am going to start writing letters to him as soon as I get the addy. He told me many kids were allowed cells phones that night they had with them, Does anyone know if they are allowed cells phones during basic????please let me know at [email protected] com as I will definetly send him his cell phone back as a way and means on weekends to phone home. Thank you Army MOM"S and DAD"S  (Aug 10, 2009 | post #16)

Does anyone would liked to share any funny jokes

Three men died and went to Heaven. Saint Peter who is ahead of transportation in Heaven joined all three men when they arrived. The first man went into Peters office. Peter said to him, "I have one question to ask you before I send you on your way to see Heaven. Have you ever cheated on your wife?" The first man replied, "No, Never. I was a faithful husband." So Peter gave the man the keys to a BMW so he left and was on his way to see Heaven. The second man walked into Peters office. Peter said to him, "One question for you, Have you ever cheated on your wife?" The second man replied, "I thought about it. I never did it, but it did cross my mind a few times." So Peter gave the man the keys to a Chevy so he could see the world of Heaven. The third man walked into see Peter. Peter said to him. "I must ask you this question, Have you ever cheated on your wife?" The third man replied, "Uhm, Yes I did, In fact I cheated a couple of times." So Peter handed him a bicycle to ride around in Heaven. So all three men were traveling about in Heaven with their ride and the third man came across the man in the BMW. The BMW was parked aside the road and inside the third man saw the first man crying his eyes out. "Man, I don't know why you are crying because you got the BMW. Look all I got was this bike for what I did!" "Yes I know, but I just saw my wife on rollarblades!  (May 1, 2009 | post #74)
