Dawkins Trail is a mess

I have tried contacting the KY rails for trail committee about this and they won't respond to my messages. Thanks Mrs Gov Beshear....for nothing  (Mar 24, 2013 | post #4)

Total props to this young man. Even though he got the record in a very weak division against even weaker competition, it's testimony to his strong work ethic and skills. I don't know much about the coach other than to say that he appeared to rebuild his offense line with youngsters that allowed Jude to excel once again. EKU & Liberty College are what I would expect for scholarship offers. I certainly hope he moves far, far away, further than EKU so he can spread his wings a bit. If I were to advise him, I'd advise to pursue football, just because that's what I know and like. I don't know much about college wrestling, but I'd think that pursuing college football would be more useful than wrestling. I wonder what others think?>  (Nov 6, 2011 | post #41)

Not too much to say other than the poster is either delusional or a hi-school sophomore.  (Nov 5, 2011 | post #36)

In all due respect to this young man, he's not going to win the Heisman. In fact unless he played for Trinity or St X in Louisville, he would be just a mediocre runner. For those two teams he would be good, but would never approach the state rushing record. The difference in athletic programs between Louisville and EKY is monstrous. As a matter of fact when Johnson County played the team from Ashland last weekend, you saw what an average defense could do to shut him down. If he played for a Class 6A team in Louisville, that would happen to him every weekend. Not to take anything from his work ethic or talent, but he's good...just not THAT good. Which does make me ponder...when was the last stellar athlete to come from the mountains? I really can't remember. Pelphrey? nah...he was an average b-ball player on a good team. Richie Farmer? Ditto. It's probably been 20 years since a professional caliber athlete came from EKY. It makes one wonder..why is that? Surely it couldn't be the drug problem you guys have there, could it?  (Oct 30, 2011 | post #27)

Very well-said. I've met him and he seems to be a remarkable young man, with a strong work ethic. I might be wrong about his Div I prospects anyway. Vic Anderson who is a running back at UL is about his size, and he gets some starts. On top of that playing Div I ball can be a detriment to a player's college career. If he were my son I would be extremely pleased if only Centre recruited him.  (Oct 30, 2011 | post #24)

I'm confused. Does he still need 60 yrds, or is his season over? Anyway, he won't play for the ACC, SEC, or any Div I school. I've seen him play, he's fast but too small. Centre or Georgetown is likely for him.  (Oct 30, 2011 | post #22)
