Do O/O and Comp. Drivers stick together?

I sure wish they would have been able to. I don't think that there was enough effected to make any difference. Such a shame.  (Apr 8, 2008 | post #10)

Truck stops in the old days used to give the truck drivers free coffee and showers. You won't find one today that does that. You could spend $800 on fuel and then get charged $7 just to take a shower. All the truck stops are now owned by foreiners. You can certainly tell that the people that own the truck stops these days, have never been a truck driver themselves. A trucker has to pay on average $15 per meal that he eats and usually it tastes like craps. They know that you guys can't get those rigs in just anywhere and they take advantage of being the only place around that had parking to accomodate your truck. Not to mention that all that money make is supporting another country. Alot of them will not even accept Comdata anymore. I can't believe how we have just given our country and businesses away like we have.  (Apr 8, 2008 | post #8)

Electric Fence: You are an exception for the most part. It would not have been a big deal, except that my brother-in-law had been a company driver for YEARS. My point was that most of them feel that just because they are not the owner of the truck, they don't care about it. We have had drivers in our trucks that had been driving for 10 or 15 years and some of them more, that drove our truck like they were just learning, snatching and jerking, making the truck bounce up and down when taking off and sliding tires when stopping. I would like to think that they wouldn't treat their truck like that if they had to do the repairs on it. Of course when it did need repairs of some sort, they were no where to be found when the parts came in. When I say that he did not know what kind of motor he had, I literally mean that he didn't know if he had a Cat, Detroit, Cummins, let alone anything else about it. My husband gets ragged because he is a container hauler. I suppose it get real boring out there and starting a fight over the radio must pass the time for them all. It's not an easy job for any of you guys and gals and I believe that you are all needed. I just wish that we all stuck together a little more. On everything, not just a shut down or the price of fuel.  (Apr 8, 2008 | post #7)

They probably had sick days to use anyway. Here is probably a typical type of company driver: My brother-in-law drives a truck for a company in Florida. My hubby who has been an owner operator for 29 years, asks him what kind of motor is in his truck, he didn't know. WHAT??????  (Apr 7, 2008 | post #4)

Best late-night comedy host currently on TV?

No, your not the only one. He truely makes me want to puke. Even if they have a guest on the show that I would be interested in seeing, I can't stomach the wait.  (Apr 6, 2008 | post #32)

Man Claims He's Pregnant

How can you choose to be a man and then choose to have a baby like a woman? I he's a man, he's a man. Men don't have babies.  (Apr 6, 2008 | post #1457)

I could watch a whole show about "Jay Walking". I saw one where he was showing pictures of the presidential candidates in California and I was shocked at how many had no clue who they were. Even Hillary Clinton's picture was not identified. We wonder why our nation is in the shape that it in. When people don't know who is running for president, they certainly don't know how each one feels on the issues. How can you make an informed vote? I guess that was a studid question, they probably don'e vote at all and thats even worse. Yea, I say Jay! The Fruitcake Lady was hillarious too.  (Apr 6, 2008 | post #23)

Indian baby born with two faces, hailed as goddess

I would sure hope that it would be for pity for the child. I don't know if I could do it either way. Thank the Lord I have not had to make that decision.  (Apr 6, 2008 | post #132)

Man Claims He's Pregnant

This whole thing is discusting to me. Why is this kind of reporting the stuff we always hear? Who gives a sh*t what Britney Spears has done today or that some politician payed for sex or that Jessica Simpson is a wierdo. The important stuff, like openening our borders to Mexican truckers so they haul all the dope and illegals in that they want to, is not seen or heard until it is done! Our media sucks! I certainly don't give a crap about some trans sexual that is pregnant. I feel for the baby. People should think a little more before they make decisions like this.  (Apr 5, 2008 | post #1445)
