Something I rarely say to another person: STFU. Come on, attacking our teeth? I will have you know that I not only have my own teeth, they are white, clean and cavity free. If you cannot say something constructive, STFU and stop drinking the kool ade! (Now that stuff will rot your teeth.) (Nov 23, 2010 | post #19)
Election night I followed the numbers from the NV Sec of State's site, and the numbers didn't jive. With the power outage in Henderson, the email trail from Harrah's/MGM showing the SEIU forced lunch break busing of voters to the polls I think it was rigged. We who live here in Nevada KNOW how we Nevadans feel about Mr. Reid. With all of the people who put in their time and money, I feel that Ms. Angle conceded too darned soon. She should have called for a recount and fought like Miller in AK! If Sharon Angle is such a quitter, maybe we are better off? (I doubt it, but.......???) (Nov 23, 2010 | post #18)
Angle! I do not trust Harry Reid. Fixed income my arse. (For one) The man can't give a straight answer. A 1 million dollar condo as a second home while many Nevadans are homeless or live in sub par housing. That is just wrong. He has not helped Nevada. (IMHO) He closed Yucca Mtn, and I give him credit for that. (Although it turned out more to be like getting jewelry before being r*ped on a date.) Most of Nevada DID NOT WANT that ObamaCare. Most of us do not have doctors in out towns anyway! (Oct 21, 2010 | post #300)
Dean Heller in the past has responded to my emails and helped me when I needed it. (Oct 21, 2010 | post #5)
Come on, would I vote for another Reid? I don't think so! (Oct 21, 2010 | post #80)
I do not trust Harry Reid. He did not listen to Nevada. (Oct 21, 2010 | post #298)
Yes, the media knew about the affair. The husband of the Senator's mistress apparently was trying to blackmail Ensign. In this attempt he wrote a letter to, I believe it was Meghan Kelly of America's Newsroom, (a FOXNEWS morning show). Yes, I know the details, in as much as the information has be given. Senator Ensign decided to "man up", as the expression has been used, and came clean. Now, he could have done LIKE SO MANY OTHERS have choosen to do. He could have ducked and covered. Ensign could have paid the husband the blackmail. He didn't. He admitted to the truth. I know, it is a totally new and strange concept in Washington D.C., the truth. And for that, in my opinion, John Ensign deserves credit. (Jun 22, 2009 | post #7)
Give him credit, he came clean and admitted his wrong doings. So many try to sweep their wrong doings under the rug.........then blow smoke up our "you know where's" about it. Ensign didn't talk down to us and "try to blow smoke." I admire that in a man, (or woman). IMHO: If you screw up, ADMIT IT and move on. (Come to think of it, that's a step in AA: When you are wrong, promptly admit it. It keeps drunks sober.) (Jun 19, 2009 | post #2)
If you want to know aboutthe schools, as a parent I am happy with them. My son is in the H.S. now. High School sports are great and get support. BMHS' wrestling teams are the best in the State, bringing home the Gold 9 out of 10 years running. I live in Eureka County, and my child is bussed to Lander County. I feel that he is safe there. I am not afraid for him after walking to his sisters house after sports practices, (even after dark) He plays all the sports he can get into! The schools still have a Music Program, and teachers that care. (You can even call them at home! Try to do that in the big city!) I moved out here more than 10 years ago to escape California. My children have all recieved a wonderful education. I also feel safe. I don't worry all the time about having the doors locked. Aside from all of the posts on the topic, the Sheriffs Officers in Lander County have always treated me square. Battle Mountain is not a big town, not many in Nevada are. It is a more relaxed style of living. It gets cold in the winter. Not snowy all of the time, but winters vary. The summers get hot, hot and dry. If you want trees, you will most likely have to plant them, this is the high desert, the Great Basin Desert. (Not like as Vegas!) It gets dusty in the summer, and muddy in the winter. Enjoy. (Jun 10, 2009 | post #4)
I read all of this and it makes me sad. If you have a genuine problem, and you need it addressed. If the Lander County S.O. isn't responding properly, TAKE THE NEXT STEP: Send the information to the Nevada State Attorney General in Carson City. Hand write/type the information, keep a copy. Mail it RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED. (Don't send an email, no back up copy for later if you need it!) You can also send copies of the letter to the A.G. to your legistlator in Carson City. (If you're really P.O.'de send a copy to your Congressman and Senators.)They WILL refer it on down, but the guys in Carson City are the place to start. It appears that nothing will change UNLESS action is taken. I'm not trying to be snide, I am seriously trying to help, and this is the only help I know to give. (Jun 10, 2009 | post #250)
My prayers go out to the Steve's family and friends. People do not realize just how much danger is involved in working the pits. I salute the brave men and women willing to go into the mines and bring out the minerals we need to live as we do. May God bless you. (Jun 10, 2009 | post #2)
