Kids are smart and will find ways to get into things. But why would you ever let your kids play in a car? Why would you leave your keys on the floor. THAT is just waiting for someone to make off with the vehicle. Read the police reports. Like I said before - I would like to know what phone calls she made at work. Did she call the grandparents to see how the 2 1/2 year old was? Did they call her? How can you drive by the daycare and not even think - she has an approximately 27 minute drive. Sleeping baby or not, have you put one of those babyseats in a car lately? My sister has a 4 month old and those things are not easy - even with the base. AND they are not light. Even if she left the carseat in the car and carried the baby out, you still have to buckle them in. Just unbelievable.  (Aug 14, 2007 | post #409)

DA should have totally recused himself from this case as he just stated on tv that his losing a child had something to do the decision. I would like to see the phone records from her cell phone and where she worked to see if she checked on her other child who spent the night at his grandparents. Brown: "For people out there who are saying how could this happen, what would you say?" Dombkowski: "I would say stress, life stress, you're dealing with routines that can be off, you can be up in the middle of the night multiple times dealing with a newborn." Brown: "What's the best advice you can offer?" Dombkowski: "Establishing good routines, learning effective ways of coping with stress. You definitely want to make sure you're utilizing everybody that's available to you whether it's your family, friends, or medical professionals, really anybody that's at your resource you should utilize." I'm sorry...but what?? Stress??? Mommy and Daddy fighting? Baby was perfectly healthy. Any colic? It all doesn't add up.
