A sincere thank you

After six years in the league he still makes rookie mistakes, (I can't rag on him for getting hurt... he has a torn MCL). The real problem with the guy is that he obviously has never been properly coached... either in Denver or in Chicago. The Bears big claim to fame is that they have a coaching staff made up of head coaches. The offensive, defensive and line coaches are guys who could not cut it as head coaches being led by a guy with as much charisma and personality as a used Trojan. The problem on the Bears is not Cutler, or Hester, or Urlacher or any of the others since in order to be on any NFL team they have to have talent. The problem is coaching, play calling and leadership. I guess fans in both Denver and Chicago are looking at suffering through mediocrity for as long as current ownership is in control and fans keep putting butts in the seats to watch a substandard product.  (Jan 25, 2011 | post #7)

A sincere thank you

Just a sincere thank you to the geniuses at the Denver Broncos for trading Jay Cutler to Chicago. Today's game showed what he is capable of with proper coaching and a solid offensive line. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The REAL super bowl is next Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago. Bears v. Packers... no matter which team wins it will be the best game of the season.  (Jan 16, 2011 | post #1)

Don't Ask Don't Tell - Denver, CO

One of the G.O.P. votes that helped pass this was Mark Kirk from Illinois, (a R.I.N.O. P.O.S.). He was elected as the lesser of two evils. The lesser of two evils is STILL EVIL.  (Dec 19, 2010 | post #14)

FOX31 Investigates exploding glass bake ware: Pyrex, Anch...

Consumer Reports investigated 152 incidents that have been reported to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. New type of glass Pyrex and Anchor Hocking glassware have changed over the years. They used to be made of a type of glass called borosilicate. Now they're made of a kind of glass called soda lime. Consumer Reports tested both kinds of glass in its lab to see how they compare in extreme conditions likely to cause breakage. The tests included new 13x9-inch bakeware from Pyrex and Anchor Hocking. European-made Pyrex and Arcuisine Elegance, made of borosilicate, were also in the tests. All have warnings to avoid extreme temperature changes, and packaging on the American-made products contains a lot more cautions in small print. In Consumer Reports' very tough lab tests, the glassware was filled with dry sand, which gets far hotter than food. It was put in a 450 degree oven for 80 minutes, then placed on a wet granite countertop, something you're not supposed to do. Ten out of 10 times, the soda lime glass broke. But in the same conditions, the European glassware did not break, though most did after baking at 500 degrees. The American manufacturers said soda lime glass has advantages and is less likely to break when it's dropped or bumped. Consumer Reports said there are enough cases to warrant further investigation by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.  (Dec 18, 2010 | post #25)

U.S. dollar plummets around the world

SOURCE: AP http://news.yahoo. com/s/ap/20101101/ ap_on_bi_go_ec_fi/ us_economy WASHINGTON – A mixed picture of the economy emerged one day before key midterm elections that have focused on the nation's financial health. Spending by Americans slowed in September and their incomes fell for the first time in more than a year. At the same time, manufacturing activity grew by the most in five months and the weak construction industry showed a little life. The new data suggests the economy is growing, albeit at an anemic pace. Consumer spending had helped boost third-quarter growth. It was the best showing since a 4.1 percent rise in consumer spending at the end of 2006, before a severe recession hit. However, Monday's report suggested the strength occurred in July and August and that spending slowed considerably in September. The savings rate fell to 5.3 percent in September, the lowest rate since August 2009. But it is still well above the 2.1 percent average savings rate for all of 2007. An inflation gauge tied to consumer spending rose a slight 0.1 percent in September and was flat after excluding volatile food and energy. In response to the weak economy, the Federal Reserve this week is expected to announce a program to buy Treasury bonds. The effort is designed to drive interest rates lower and spur economic activity. "It is encouraging that economic growth no longer appears to be slowing. Nonetheless, the economy is not growing fast enough to reduce the unemployment rate or boost inflation," said Paul Dales, U.S. economist with Capital Economics “A Word Means What I Say it Means; no More, no Less”: The Red Queen "Alice Through Th Looking Glass In other news... SOURCE Reuters Ambac Financial Group Inc (ABK.N), which was the second-largest U.S. bond insurer before suffering huge losses on risky mortgages, said it may file for bankruptcy protection this year after missing an interest payment on some debt. Shares of Ambac slid as much as 59.8 percent. In a regulatory filing, Ambac said it has been unable to raise capital to avoid bankruptcy. It said it remains in talks with senior bondholders about a consensual restructuring through the bankruptcy process that preserves a $7 billion tax benefit. Ambac said if it cannot agree on a "prepackaged " bankruptcy in the near term, it intends to seek Chapter 11 protection this year, perhaps without the support of creditors. It said this would cause $1.62 billion of debt to be payable immediately. Meanwhile, Obama tells us; we are emerging robust and healthy from the second Great Depression, with historically low unemployment, no foreclosure problem, terrorism ended, Iran tamed, the entire world running on wind power, and all the wealth spread around a bit. The truth is that these folks are unfit to govern and should be removed from office. The only question is: can the nation survive until the next election? Perhaps this is why they are trying to cram the most radical changes in the history of the republic into the shortest possible time, knowing that their days in office are numbered. http://solvo-civit as-iunctus.com  (Nov 1, 2010 | post #13)

Imagine a country where...

It i possible that there is some hope. It seems as though the administration and their financiers have gone just a bit off the deep end and may crash and burn before they can inflict that fate totally on the Republic. Soros looks like a cranky, half-crazy old Hungarian (granted, he looked like that before, too), and Obama...well, he looks like Obama. We have seen Obama and crew in operation for two years now, and it is low comedy. Consider ObamaCare, which, with an overwhelming majority in both House and Senate and the support of the media and the medical trade groups, the administration was unable to pass without infuriating the entire country, demolishing Medicare, delaying the recovery, and unleashing the Tea Parties. Obama, of course, speaks for himself. Here we are emerging robust and healthy from the second Great Depression, with historically low unemployment, no foreclosure problem, terrorism ended, Iran tamed, the entire world running on wind power, and all the wealth spread around a bit. Did I miss anything? Oh, yeah, those oceans haven't begun dropping yet. But he'll be able to get that now, at least if Glenn Beck doesn't get in the way. So here we are mere days before the Apocalypse, when the floor of the Capitol opens up to swallow the last howling Democrat while resources and time are wasted on weird little projects that accomplish nothing and wouldn't help even if successful, while the real problems grow larger, fiercer, and closer to intractable. The record is clear. Not a single one of their programs has taken off. But, as Obama said, the problem is that the American people are paralyzed with fear and aren't understanding reality. Actually, it is more likely that the citizens of the Republic are awakening from the Kool-Ade induced stupor of the past two years and are about to rid themselves of at least some of the parasites that have been draining their lifeblood... We'll see...  (Oct 31, 2010 | post #14)

Article 1, Section 9 of the U.S. Constitution states, "The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it." Habeas corpus is a concept of law, in which a person may not be held by the government without a valid reason for being held. A writ of habeas corpus can be issued by a court upon a government agency (such as a police force or the military). Such a writ compels the agency to produce the individual to the court, and to convince the court that the person is being reasonably held. The suspension of habeas corpus allows an agency to hold a person without a charge. Suspension of habeas corpus is often equated with martial law. Because of this connection of the two concepts, it is often argued that only Congress can declare martial law, because Congress alone is granted the power to suspend the writ. The President, however, is commander-in-chief of the military, and it has been argued that the President can take it upon himself to declare martial law. The first famous instance of the use of this Presidential power was when President Abraham Lincoln suspended the writ of Habeus Corpus and freedom of the press during the Civil War. Since that time, there have been numerous instances of Presidential Executive Orders which have enlarged upon this perceived power, (see previous posting). So yes, if there is a "declared national emergency", (such as say, another series of "Yemeni bomb threats")B.O. has the potential to suspend ALL Constitutional guarantees. http://solvo-civit as-iunctus.com  (Oct 30, 2010 | post #4)

Executive Order Number 12148 created the Federal Emergency Management Agency that is to interface with the Department of Defense for civil defense planning and funding. An "emergency czar" was appointed. FEMA has only spent about 6 percent of its budget on national emergencies. The bulk of their funding has been used for the construction of secret underground facilities to assure continuity of government in case of a major emergency, foreign or domestic. Executive Order Number 12656 appointed the National Security Council as the principal body that should consider emergency powers. This allows the government to increase domestic intelligence and surveillance of U.S. citizens and would restrict the freedom of movement within the United States and grant the government the right to isolate large groups of civilians. The National Guard could be federalized to seal all borders and take control of U.S. air space and all ports of entry. Here are just a few Executive Orders associated with FEMA that would suspend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These Executive Orders have been on record for nearly 30 years and could be enacted by the stroke of a Presidential pen: EXECUTIVE ORDER 10990 allows the government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports. EXECUTIVE ORDER 10995 allows the government to seize and control the communication media. EXECUTIVE ORDER 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals. EXECUTIVE ORDER 10998 allows the government to take over all food resources and farms. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11001 allows the government to take over all health, education and welfare functions. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002 designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11003 allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate communities, build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be abandoned, and establish new locations for populations. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11005 allows the government to take over railroads, inland waterways and public storage facilities. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11051 specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11049 assigns emergency preparedness function to federal departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issued over a fifteen year period. EXECUTIVE ORDER 11921 allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution, of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit and the flow of money in U.S. financial institution in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when a state of emergency is declared by the President, Congress cannot review the action for six months. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has broad powers in every aspect of the nation. And its' all under the sole direction of POTUS once a National Emergency has been declared. Right before what might be to date the most important and historic election in our nation's history two things have happened; 1. The Obama regime "suddenly develops" information saying Al Queda is a threat and 2. A couple of bombs get sent to the U.S. via airplanes from out of Yemen. To me, such events have "more than interesting timing." These things seem almost like a set-up of some sort. These two events could be the precursors for another couple of events coming down the road which will be used to get Obama to declare a national emergency so that he can seize power, complete and totalitarian power, as a dictator. In other words, I see us possibly headed towards an American Krystalnacht and very, very soon. Krystalnacht was one of the events, many years ago, that let Adolph Hitler take complete control of Germany and do away with representative government. Just prior to the power grab by Hitler there were a series of events like the Burning of the Reichstag and others, to include Krystalnacht, that the German socialists used for an excuse to take completely over. There is also a good possibility that Obama/Pelosi/Reid and the socialist gaggle will NOT be able to complete a take over of our nation's government and power resources without resistance. It could go either way with the administration in Washington. So, let's just keep our eyes and ears open and wait to see if our socialists DO take dictatorial control or not. If Congress meets after the first of the year, then things "should" be alright... sort of. If Obama uses his emergency powers to deny the newly elected Congress their right to assemble, then that is when things really go to Ohmigawd mode and we will need to be ready. Just a thought that could easily be completely wrong, (and I hope it is). But then, again, who knows? I am intimately familiar with with the corrupt Chicago Democrat machine and one of it's acolytes is in our nation's highest office? Sorry to bring you down Motomom34, but the zombie won't go away by simply closing your eyes. Unfortunately, mainly due to those who have forgotten what this Republic is truly about, and the complacency of those of us who failed to take a stand and allowed it to take place; those bullet points I enumerated ARE what we currently live with in the United States. Can the trend be reversed? I hope so, but unlike our friends from the far left I have little hope that we can reverse the change from what was granted to us by the genius and sacrifice of our forebears. All we can do is try. The Star Spangled Banner

Before most athletic contests we hear our National Anthem but few give the words, (and therefore the meaning) of the poem much thought. And, probably due to the creeping political correctness that has evolved into a full galloping disdain for this Republic by the elites, we NEVER hear the 2nd,; 3rd and 4th. stanzas of Francis Scott Keys homage to the Standard that represents our political union. For those who are unaware that there is more to the Star Spangles Banner than what they have heard, here are ALL the words as they were originally penned, (while the author was detained during a British warship bombardment of Fort Mc Henry during the War of 1812; Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep, Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream: 'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! And where is that band who so vauntingly swore That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion, A home and a country should leave us no more! Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand Between their loved home and the war's desolation! Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: "IN GOD IS OUR TRUST."And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
