Amber Alert called off as search goes on for 3 children a...

Probably because that's what the foster parents said in order to get quicker response by the PD. React first, ask questions later.  (Feb 14, 2008 | post #6)

Boy, 16, charged in killing of RB girl, LB youth at birth...

Sometimes the best role model, is the worst parent. Role model in what NOT to do with your life. Kudos to those of you single parents who have raised successful kids. It's no easy task!  (Feb 14, 2008 | post #11)

Armed couple abduct 3 kids in Carson

I assume the 2 oldest are hers from a prior relationship/marriage, and the youngest is theirs together.  (Feb 14, 2008 | post #6)

Former officer Ripatti gives birth to a son

Many of us were born, raised, and continue to live in Torrance. Some of us are raising 4th generation Torrance residents. I am proud to say, I am one of them!  (Feb 14, 2008 | post #20)

Fiery power-line blaze torches Manhattan Beach car

I've seen this happen before. Many years ago on Normandie Avenue in Gardena. Line went down. It didn't start a fire, but it sure was flopping all over the place. The ONLY thing the fire department (who were there within minutes) could do was block the street in both directions and wait for DWP. Foam does nothing when the source of the 'spark' is still alive and well.  (Feb 6, 2008 | post #9)

AP: Clinton wins California

I'll never understand the thought process of a person who would vote for Hillary. The woman who sat next to her husband with a big smile on her face, as he lied to the world... "I did not have s*xual relations with that woman." She condoned that, and covered for it. IF she makes it to the White House, what else will she condone, cover up, and lie about?  (Feb 6, 2008 | post #14)

West Covina woman victim of bus accident

Walk faster!? Are you kidding? Since there were no details, I shouldn't speak to it... but the article does say she was hit as the bus was making a turn, which leads me to believe she was in a cross walk. That alone gives HER the right of way. If the bus driver wasn't so worried about holding up traffic behind him/her, she'd be alive right now. Slow down and look at your surroundings. Nothing in life is so important you can't be a few minutes late. Take your time and be cautious.  (Feb 6, 2008 | post #3)

Pill overdose killed Heath Ledger

So very sad that our society has become the 'quick fix' society. If you sneeze too loud... there's a pill for that. So many other ways to combat insomnia. None of them involve pills. May he R.I.P.  (Feb 6, 2008 | post #3)

History, perfection slip Patriots' grasp

I'm not a follower, nor a fan, of football. But "cheaters " seems to be the theme of the day. Everywhere I turn, I read or hear about how the Patriot's cheated throughout the season. Can someone please explain to me how they cheated. I can't seem to get a straight answer. LOL  (Feb 4, 2008 | post #7)

A charter school is proposed for The Hill

I am a Torrance High grad. Your comment takes me back to high school and parents threatening their troubled teens with "If you don't shape up, I'll send you to Bishop Montgomery where the rules are more strict and the nuns will take care of your bad behavior." Those parents had no clue that the dealer their kid was getting drugs from, was a student at Bishop. Just because it's private or elite, doesn't mean it's the 'best' or trouble free. Quite the opposite in most cases.  (Feb 4, 2008 | post #22)

It's not over until it's over. A good coach doesn't lull their team into a false sense of security.  (Feb 4, 2008 | post #3)
